They were really short staffed when went but our waiter was trying his best to keep a lot of tables happy and did a great job. The food was good and the margaritas were even better!

We eat here alot!! We love Brian! He's the best!! The food is always great the staff are always so nice and helpful always around to help in any way!! All the mixed drinks are perfection!! Great place at any time!! One of our #1 choices!!

Huge menu, hard to decide unless you went for something specific. My husband had the Tres Mexico dinner- steak, pork & poblano pepper & I had the chicken enchiladas. They were both good. Our waitress was good, friendly & offered advice about different choices. She refilled our chips without having to ask.

I went to a restaurant before coming here.. the wait was an hour so I decided to go elsewhere .. I found this gem. The absolute best Mexican food I’ve eaten in North Carolina. (I’m from California and have lived in Texas so that should say a lot.) oh and our server, Armando Was amazing with his hospitality and generously handed us authentic salsa to enjoy with our chips and meal. I recommend this place 5 stars. Definitely coming back.

The food is amazing! We ate here 2 days in a row. The service was amazing and the food came out hot, fast, and delicious. Special shout out to Bobbie as a server. She was awesome! Very nice place to eat on the island.

My daughters and I enjoyed our lunch as newcomer’s to the area from Colorado. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food is really yummy and good portion sizes! The best Mexican we have experienced so far in Eastern NC. The margaritas are delicious and huge. We will be back!

Amazing Experience every time I go!! In addition to an amazing hearty menu they also have a full vegetarian and vegan menu which is so hard to find around these parts!! Chefs will go out of their way to customize any dish to your liking as well! Must try their Fresh margaritas!! Made with hand squeezed fruit no mixers or syrup.
Bartenders and waiters are so friendly you will quickly make you feel right at home.

Food was great and service was pleasant. They made sure our twin toddlers food came out quickly so we didn't have any night time meltdowns - which made our meal even better. We always love stopping by El Zarape whenever we come to visit Emerald Isle!
