Greene Square Restaurant

Six of us went for dinner last night, all of us for the first time, and all of us pleasantly surprised and happy with everything. We sat near a pretty fireplace, and most ordered from the drink menu. The house gin and tonic was excellent, and the Bloody Mary my husband had was outstanding. For appetizers we had the fried green tomatoes that not only were delicious, the presentation was very appealing. A friend ordered the cheese and bacon queso with cornbread chips...wow those were different and very tasty. My husband had the salmon, which he said was good, the broccoli that accompanied it was outstanding. A friend got the fried chicken, collard greens and beignets and declared it to be excellent-his clean plate backed up that statement. Another had the shrimp and grits and loved it, the stuffed meatballs over spaghetti was a huge portion and was said to be delicious. I had the Greek pizza which was good, but after seeing the fried chicken wish I had gotten that. Another got the veggie pizza and sent the first back because it was overcooked for her (I would have loved it crunchy) and after getting a fresh one was very happy with it. On that note, our waiter was efficient, helpful and aimed to please. He volunteered immediately to take the "overcooked" pizza back and at first my friend said it was fine, then called him back and said no, it was too crunchy and he happily removed it and in a short time brought another, the chef had put one in the oven just in case. The waiter made suggestions to those who had questions, and answered everything asked. All in all, it was a pleasant, delicious experience and we will definitely go back. There was not much of a crowd on a Friday night, but the weather was crappy, Ohio State was getting ready to play, and it's between holidays. I hope people try this place and see how good and different it is. I can't see how anyone could walk away from Green Square disappointed.

Finally got a chance to go try out Greene Square. It's inside the clubhouse at Dragon Ranch Golf Club and is a very nice restaurant. We were able to sit right next to the fireplace and enjoy the atmosphere perfectly. The menu is different that just about anything around - in a good way! I had the chicken and beignets which were great and my wife was raving about the shrimp and grits well after we left. It's nice to see a new restaurant do something original and at a fair price - we will definitely be back again soon!
