Came here with a friend for a birthday brunch. Everyone was very friendly and the food was great. The portions were just right. Some diners give you way too much food and others don’t give you enough for the price they charge. Stray Hen was perfect. The staff even sang me happy birthday and came with a layered pancake birthday cake and a candle. This was an awesome start to my birthday. Thank you to all and my friend Jing.

Fantastic food! Warm and friendly staff! On axis table/seating pattern makes it feel a little tight, if it was crowded hearing would be difficult. Churrros French toast was scrumptious!

Just a lovely place. Service was wonderful. They had pretty much anything you wanted for breakfast. Our server told us they just switched to thick cut bacon. Although not picture i had 5 pieces from her plate and mine. I got the Hunter Omelet, which was a meat lovers dream. The hashbrowns can come with a variety of cheese from Harvarti to Feta or mixtures. Mine was supposed to be Feta and Harvarti but it can be a little loud here so she didn't hear me say Harvarti with the Feta. She had Harvarti and Cheddar which also makes a great mix when melted. It's all good though the bacon was the star. We were seated quickly. Enjoyed a Mimosa Flight of $25 with 4 separate glasses of Pineapple, Guava, Mango and Orange to make up the Mimosas. Glasses could have been bigger but more than enough for One person. I really liked this place and would return if ever in the area for breakfast. A heavy recommend here!!!

Got breakfast here with my friends yesterday and we were all pleasantly surprised! We got seated right away, our server was kind and very attentive, and the food was tasty! We ordered chai lattes, apple cinnamon French toast, the pancake combo, and a skillet. Everything was cooked perfectly and the portions are generous for the price. When we asked our server for hot sauce he brought us 3 options (perfect!) thank you stray hen!

A favorite breakfast/brunch place. The food was great!! They don’t use a lot of salt which is perfect for us, but they have hot sauce and salt on the table. The skillet was so flavorful and caramelized. The pancakes are fluffy and done well, we liked them a bit better than the French toast. The side of fruit looked old unfortunately. I am especially happy that their COFFEE is EXCELLENT! Many breakfast places will have amazing food, but mediocre coffee. 2 hour street parking for customers.

Favorite brunch place in Chicago vicinity so far! It is a family-friendly gem! The menu has a wide variety of options for kids, which the little ones of our friends loved a lot. The servers were exceptionally warm and patient, making the long weekend waits more bearable. While it can get crowded, the delicious food and yummy food along with their service make it worth the wait. The staff member helping us did an amazing job with recommendations/substitutes to ensure we get the best food. Everyone on our table loved their food (some items are not in the pictures) and the spot-on coffee to get the kick! A 5-star choice for a brunch outing with our family friends!

Wonderful experience here today. Amazing and kind service. Great fall specials- the pumpkin spice latte (pictured) was so beautiful and super tasty! Also the pancakes are super big and fluffy! The pumpkin pancakes are sooooo amazing - sliced apples and cranberries on top made it taste like fall on a plate. So good!!!!

This is my third visit there and I brung some friends to try the food cuz it was so great the first two times. They are now and they fall menu and have a lot of great fall drinks and pancakes. Of course you know there's a lot of stuff in pumpkin. We end up doing the south side of and the north side of breakfast with pumpkin pancakes and that great pumpkin cream latte!

We are not local residents and were staying at a local hotel. This cafe is the best food we had the whole weekend in town. The coffee drinks were perfect….not too sweet or too bitter. And the food is amazing. You can tell it is all handmade, versus frozen. We will definitely be back when we can!!!

In an effort to dine more locally, for brunch we picked a local place. The details this place takes between the interior choices and the craftsmanship with the food you can tell there is care in those details. We were seated quick, and the waitress gave us time to figure out what we were going to get. The mimosa tasted delicious. Food came out faster than I expected for a Saturday morning, but it was cooked perfectly so I have nothing to complain about LOL. I will definitely visit this place again. I did notice when we were leaving which was more towards 10amish that there was a good line forming outside so I would suggest trying to go earlier if you can. The whole place looked very clean, and the prices were very reasonable.
