I have my breakfast on Monday's at Sylvia's and its not only priced perfect but the service and the quality of the food is one of the best. I highly recommend Sylvia's as a great change from the fast food meals. Nothing like home cooking and at Sylvia's that is what you get.

Sylvia's was packed this morning. Worh the wait. Your staff handled the crowds that just kept coming. The food is always worth the wait. Kudos to all.

A Perfect Diner !!. I don't think many places deserve a 5 star rating, but I can't justify awarding Sylvia's anything less. The service is welcoming and efficient, and the menu selections are everything you'd expect from a diner. More importantly, "They pull it off". Tiring of my usual breakfast spot in Ellsworth, I looked online for diner options and reviews and decided to try Sylvia's. Not being a fan of strip mall dining, I've driven past Sylvia's for several years. MY MISTAKE !! Inside I found a very comfortable spot in which to have a leisurely, well-prepared breakfast. Also impressive, is the fact that Sylvia's doesn't try to be something that it's not--just straight-forward food is what's offered and what's provided. My Condiments to the Chief--Sylvia's has a new fan.

While traveling through the area, we decided to grab some breakfast and then popped into Sylvia’s Cafe without knowing what to expect. It was a Saturday, and the place was packed, but the wait was worth it! We put our name on the waiting list, and it was about a 20 min wait. Although the restaurant is located in a shopping strip, once you walk inside, you feel transported. From the beautiful mural in the back of the restaurant to the many Maine-themed posters, it all made us feel so cozy. Service was top-notch. Our server was attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The extensive menu had a bit of all, from burgers to biscuits and gravy and - of course - all of your breakfast classics. Prices were excellent; most of the breakfast dishes also included coffee. I went with the #1 breakfast special, and it was SO much food: 3 types of meat, eggs, French toast, and potatoes. Pro-tip: upgrade your potatoes for $1.99 to include cheese, peppers, and onions. It was delicious! My partner had the biscuits and gravy and loved it as well. We can’t wait to return once we’re back in the area!

Legendary staple of Ellsworth for years! I started out washing dishes here as a teenager to pay for drivers education when it was located down the hall from the restaurant. Now I take my kids here for delicious breakfast and memories. I always order the #1 and my kids get chocolate chip pancakes. Eggs are always cooked to perfection. The waitresses are friendly and attentive. This place looks and sounds exactly as it did when I was young. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!” certainly applies to Sylvia’s Cafe. Stop on in and enjoy some amazing home cooking! P.S don’t let the line scare you, it move’s really fast.

You better come hungry! Diner style in an odd strip mall, great big breakfasts. Good service, tasty eating.

4/5 Camp cake with sausage - basically not what we expected. Chopped sausages in pancake batter. Tasted good with some maple syrup and orange marmalade. Would’ve tasted better with bacon I think. Fried Haddock sandwich - it was marked as a local favourite and I can see why. Incredible sandwich! Fresh fish with really creamy and pungent tartar sauce. Great dish overall! Haddock chowder - lots of haddock and chunky potatoes. Potatoes could’ve been more tender and the chowder wasn’t creamy enough. Tuna melt on rye - too much cheese but the tuna salad on its own was really good.

Excellent service, people were very friendly. We had a large group on a Sunday, so we had about a 40 min wait, as expected. Food was great homemade diner breakfast. Blueberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and corn beef hash were our favorite dishes!

We had the Haddock sandwich and special turkey BLT with cranberry mayo. Let’s just say the haddock was amazeballs! Yummy, crisp outside, soft and tender inside. Not often do restaurants get deep frying fish correct. This was perfect! The turkey was fresh sliced turkey breast and the cran-mayo added zing. We will be back!

While on vacation, we stopped at Sylvia’s for breakfast. The homemade hash is outstanding! I was very impressed with the entire experience . The waitress was very friendly and efficient. We sat in the area where you can see them cooking. The man and women were soooo on point with each other and the wait staff. ! The entire staff clicks, and works like a well oiled machine. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast or lunch.

The food was great, with the exception of the home fries. If they had been seasoned at all when cooked, it would have all been great. The cheesesteak omlette was great! The Cafe is clean, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend!
