Costa Vida

I ordered the sweet pork enchiladas with rice and refried beans and chips with queso. The staff were friendly and professional and when I asked what was good they gave me a real opinion instead of a generic response. The enchiladas were quite good, although the sweet pork was a little too sweet for my tastes. The refried beans didn't have much flavor but once I added salt and hot sauce, much better. The chips and queso were prob my favorite part of the meal. The only improvement I would make is to thicken the queso a little bit but overall it was good meal and I would definitely go here again.

Horrible service from the second we walked in. We waited for 15+ minutes to even order. Then when it was finally our turn, we asked the employee waiting on us which salsa was the mild one and the guy laughed at us and just said, "uh, mild." He didn't even listen to our last 2 orders and had to ask us to repeat several times. We waited for 10+ minutes more before moving on, then we realised the all the orders in the line waiting before us were messed up. All of the food was out order, the employees didn't know who's order went to who. Total confusion. One gal working just told the guy ahead us to go ahead and take a random order he said wasn't even his. One of our burritos got handed off to another guy, even though we tried to tell her 3 times that one was ours. Out of 3 of our orders, 1 made it to the end of the line. While we were trying to figure out where all of our food went the gal ringing us up nonchalantly said, "Well do you just want me to ring you up?" Um no! We didn't even have most of our order. Also, the burners weren't working so an employee was on the ground trying to light them with rolled up paper, which was very unsuccessful. None of the employees seemed too upset that the customers were fed up with the lack of service provided. No apologies, just placing blame on someone else that was working there. Needless to say, we walked out. I will not be returning any time soon.

12/12/2021: Downgraded to Two Stars Sad day. They took away all of their daily specials. Now we have no reason to eat at Costa Vida over other locations in Elko. I hope they suffer financially because of their corporate greed. --- 1/5: HUGE line of people and the staff is prioritizing their online orders. I guess the customers who actually took the time to come to the restaurant are just cattle in the chute? ---- Nice and efficient staff. Really missing the wheat tortillas. Just make batches and freeze them so you don't have so much waste. I have found a new favorite sauce...

I was blown away by the price of a steak burrito, small fountain drink and modest tip at $17.48. The casino across the street advertised steak and lobster dinner for just a couple more dollars. Paper straws??? The burrito was ok, Chipotle is better by comparison, but here is much more expensive. I can't say I will be back with better and more affordable choices right up the street- 9 Beans and a Burrito, and Rolberto's.
