Freebirds

This location of Freebirds is pretty lame by Freebirds standards. Service was lackluster. There was only one person serving and the rest of the staff was chatting in the back (which you can see because of the giant window they have near the grill). The single staff member was serving the couple in front of me but other than that it was empty at 1pm on a Thursday. Finally, a young man came out to help, but when he got to the tortilla station he just stared at me until I asked for a flour tortilla. If i wasn't familiar with Freebirds I would have been completely lost, because the only thing he said the whole way down the line was "OK" when I told him what I wanted. He didn't mix the burrito like they're supposed to, and his roll was super leaky, but I wanted to leave so I didn't say anything. He brought me to the register and took my card without even telling me the total. I'm really disappointed by this location, because every other Freebirds I've been to has been incredible as far as service and product. I don't go to Elk Grove often, but next time I do I won't be eating here.

Phenomenal place. There are so many options including vegan protein. What I love about this place is how you are able to customize your burrito size. They even have a burrito challenge. The pot brownies are amazing, mak sure you get one with your burrito. I will always prefer this over Chipotle. And the workers are fantastic!

Terrible food. Quite tasteless. The service was okay at first. I tried the beyond meat, which was dry and not acceptable. The employee started a new batch but kept the current one in rotation, despite being unacceptable. My burrito's contents wasn't organized adequately for rolling. When my burrito was ready to be rolled, the employee grabbed the ends and mashed all of the filling towards the center. Not cool. I almost told my boyfriend that we were leaving. I wanted to give the food a try though. Mistakes were made. Food wasn't good at all. Try the freebirds in Isla Vista, worth it.
