I made a reservation for an early dinner this evening to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday. She had never been to Cafe Central, but she had heard me talk about it several times. We were seated promptly and served our water and tea. We decided on two appetizers: the Grilled Portobello Mushroom and the Grilled & Fried Calamari. Both were excellent and the spicy sauce on the calamari was great. For dinner, my daughter ordered the Maple Leaf Duck Breast and I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. The presentation was spot-on gorgeous on both entrees. The duck was cooked to an absolutely perfect medium rare and the fish was easily among the best I've ever had. We each sampled the other's entree and agreed that both were absolutely delicious. After dinner, the server brought out a wonderful Tres Leches Cake with a Birthday sparkler atop a specially decorated plate. He graciously offered to take a couple of Birthday photos, which I will treasure. The food, service, and ambience all made for a wonderful birthday celebration.
Our party had a wonderful experience start to finish! Levi at the bar made some mean cocktails and made excellent wine recommendations. Cesar was our server, and took such good care of us, paying us the detailed level of attention one expects at an establishment of this caliber. The sommelier, Charles, was charming, generously sharing his knowledge and enhancing our overall experience. Our food choices, including the seafood tower, cream of green chile soup, steak and fish entrees, were perfectly prepared as were all the sides. Our 4 hour experience at Cafe Central was impeccable, and when I return to El Paso, I will be back! Thank you!
The atmosphere is very tranquil and wonderful. The dinner was savory and the dessert… I have never had any chocolate cake like the 24k gold bar. It was absolutely delectable! The wine selection goes on for miles, so you should have no problem finding one you’ll love!And the service was great our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.
Celebrated my best friend’s birthday back in September at Cafe Central and we had a fabulous experience. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect, and the service was excellent. The server made her feel extra special and went above and beyond to elevate our dinner. The live music was amazing and appropriate. We had the best time.

This was a really great meal. Food is absolutely delicious. The service is a touch slow. I understand it's fine dining, but even then still justttt a touch slow. Staff were all very friendly. The Caesar salad and octopus carpaccio were delicious, as was the escargot. The steaks were out of bounds delicious. Perfect salt crust sear on the ribeye and cooked to perfection. One of the better steaks I've had for sure.
My office Christmas party was here. It was my first time here. I loved it. I will definitely be back again. A++++
Been here twice and both times were absolutely amazing. It’s a fine place to dine with the price being worth the service and meals. The vibe this restaurant has is immaculate, whether you’re seated outside for a quieter time, or inside for more sound like a live piano in the background, you’re experience will be great. I’ve had so many good memories here, and probably one of the best places downtown. Greta for photos as well :)
Upscale dining with dress code. The service is great because of a fine staff. The wine selection is unending, most folks would not be disappointed in the least. We had the seafood platter and escargot for appetizers, followed by individual dishes: scallops, lobster ravioli and salmon and ended with the Chocolate cake for dessert. Your choice for food in El Paso, being in the desert and far as you get from the sea probably shouldn't be ours but if you need a change from steak, this is a great choice. 😋
The atmosphere is romantic. I love the live piano playing in the background. The food is exquisite! Highly recommended!
First time visitor and this was quite the culinary experience. The choices of bread were amazing and the chicken was so savory. I didn't particularly enjoy the Chilean sea bass, the fishy aftertaste was overpowering. The service was very good, I just didn't like the room we were put in for the wedding anniversary, it was directly next to what seemed to be a kitchen door and staff were constantly going through it, naturally. But it was very distracting and took away from the experience. Nonetheless, we will be visiting again.
Great location, amazing atmosphere, the service was impeccable. The bread choices were delicious and the Moscow mules were great! Both our entrees were scrumptious and presented beautifully. The perfect upscale dining experience.
