I've eaten Mexican food from Downtown all the way past Canutillo here in ELP so I feel qualified to review this popular spot. The staff here is always welcoming and attentive, making jokes and just having a great time. The food has a somewhat authentic taste although it really depends on the dish. For example, the Red Chile Stew and Enchiladas are pretty traditional but the chimichangas and more "Americanized" dishes are just ok. The menu is huge so it's hard to maintain that authentic flavor on every dish. Now, the real reason I come here is to get really full with a Tampiqueña dish and to enjoy the sopaipillas for dessert, which are always delicious with natural honey. All in all, a great place to bring the family and friends to enjoy Mexican food. Update 2023: After several visits, the place has earned 5 stars. Atmosphere is still lacking a bit, but food and service are excellent.

Yes, this place is nostalgic and familial by flavor, ambiance, and service. There’s plenty to be proud of and more to explore in this true lil gem in central. I will be back.

My husband and I ordered the tacos dorados. We asked for them, Xtra crispy, we had to wait a bit longer for our food, but let me just say, it was well worth the wait. Xtra crispy they were, and delicious! We also ordered the carnitas, which were very tender. Definitely recommended. We will return with the family. Thank you for a great service and atmosphere. Xtra points for the clean bathrooms!! 👌

My best plates are the tampiquena plate, the beef fajitas plate & the caldo de Res! And let’s not forget the sopaipillas. The service is amazing. Great food.

Edit: 3 years later, and the restaurant has changed ownership. The new ownership has immediately raised prices (understandable) and also instituted a surcharge for using a credit card. Unfortunately, this sets a very negative atmosphere over the entire dining experience now - they don't even list anywhere how much the surcharge is - and I have to remove at least 1 star for now. Very disappointing! It will be difficult to continue being a regular patron of this restaurant any longer given this very negative change. Edit: Almost two years later and it's still my favorite lunch spot in El Paso. Try the tortilla soup! Su Casa is the best restaurant (in its price range) in El Paso. It's my favorite place to go by myself or with family and friends. The staff and owner are amazing and very friendly. They've got the best tortilla soup in all of El Paso, too, but everything else on the menu has been delicious. Make the time to have lunch here! You will not be disappointed.

I had not been here since retiring from work over 5 years ago, my loss. Today 7/26/23 I drove in from the George Dieter area for a take out order. I’ve never seen such care and pride from any restaurant, in getting an order boxed and ready to take home (I order take out very often from various places). And of course the food and serving size…amazing as always. Thank you (Mr Owner) sir, for the all-around excellence! Well worth the drive, see you again soon! FC

This is probably the only restaurant left in El Paso where you walk into the restaurant and we feel you're walking straight into your mom's kitchen. The food is so authentic and The taste is just great. My family and I have been going to this restaurant for many many years. Everyone that walks in there is welcome like they are in their own SU CASA. Thanks for the hospitality and we will see you very soon.
