My first visit to Food City...I've never seen such variety of marinated meats & cheeses, peppers & sweet treats. The roasted Pasilla Peppers smelled heavenly... Also, Got a recipe for roasted Nopales (cactus paddles) from a customer that was carefully picking some out...
Smaller, older facility. Clean. Well organized. More limited selection compared to larger, chain stores. Pricing comparable to, or slightly less, than chain stores. Friendly, helpful staff.
STANDOUTS: Beautiful looking produce at good prices. Meat selection is far more varied than at the chain stores. Found items we’ve been unable to locate at other area markets. if you enjoy cooking Mexican meals... you’ll, pretty much find everything you’ll need at this store.
We WILL be back... for produce and meat items... if nothing else!
Have been here MANY times. This place is incredible. Produce section, their selection of meats. FRESH. FRESH. FRESH. The best mix of regular "American" shelf products and Hispanic ingredients to make your cravings for other cultural dishes possible. THIS PLACE IS CLEAN. CLEAN. CLEAN.
Love going there. Bakery section is phenomenal. Lots of yummy treats!
Customer service and overall treatment by staff are awesome. They have me as a customer for life.
While not a "supermarket" on a grandiose scale, it is definitely a SUPER market. I am able to find ingredients and products here that simply aren't carried at other stores. Their meat market is amazing quality as well. I'm not sure exactly what they do differently in their marinade for carne asada, but it is pretty addicting. Their prices are extremely reasonable and quite often best their competitors.
To the reviews regarding cleanliness. I have always found it clean, just showing it's age. There is a difference between cleanliness and worn down. You're also complaining of cost... I don't see it. Their prices are either on par with or beat every competition they have. And "Food Stamp People"??? You lost all respect for the review at that. God forbid you were ever in a financial situation that required you to seek assistance. The entire toxic tone of that review screams of an entitled and elitist attitude that is not wanted in a true civilized society.
Food City is excellent they have the best marinated chicken and their produce is super inexpensive they also have great deals on lunch meat in their deli also the sour cream and the requeso cheese is most excellent. You can ask for marinade to add to any meat that you buy from them and their meat counter is great they have very inexpensive meat packs. Also if you didn't know food City is owned by bashas I believe so you'll see a lot of the same things in bashes that you see at food City. Food city has an excellent arrangement of Hispanic food it reminds me of when I lived in San Diego you can't get food like this in any other grocery store if you love the flavor of Mexican food hit up a food City near you you won't be sorry also some of them cook chicken and green chilies on Sundays and Saturdays I believe on a grill out in front of the store super cool.
Food City prices are pretty low in comparison to their sister store Bashas. The quality is very good and they have great fruit and vegetables
