Poor distracted service, uneven food, and a suspended booze license are just a few reasons you really ought to consider going somewhere else. The "Carne en su Jugo" was decent, but the "Adobada Taco" and "Campestre Mulita" were average, and the "Cochinita Pibil" was awful. I'd be surprised if this place is open for too much longer, as I was the only patron in there recently on Taco Tuesday.

Ordered the half serving of chilaquiles. Extremely dry. The michelada was ok tasting. It was too spicy for my liking since I have gastritis. I don't know if I would come here again or recommend it. Was disappointed with the chilaquiles.

One of my new favorite resturants in El Cajon. I've recommended to multiple people. Cute inside and out. The birria is delicious. I also really like their queso fundido as well as the aguachile.
I can't wait to try their Sunday brunch.

Flavorful and great presentation. Just go for the food. I have been to 88 twice and very pleased with the food and portions. Both times only two or three other tables are taken, but it takes very long for your food to arrive. They said both times I went that they are training a new person in the kitchen. If you have time to waste...just go for the food and relax.

Great food. Not your typical quick stop Mexican food. Very good food with seasoning and sauces that are layered with flavor. Offer take out but my best experience was dining in.

I drove all the way here because I likes Cocina 35 and I believe they are the same owners but the food was just ok. We got a plate of Carnitas a torta ahogada and carne en su jugo. The carne en su jugo was the best of all the plates but all super salty. The torta ahogada is with the kind with the warm sauce on it not the classic torta ahogada from Gdl. Which is ok but it was all too salty. We were so thirsty by the end of our meal. Another reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because there was no toilet paper in the rest room and asked if they can get more and they never did. The restaurant was not busy at all. Oh and no ligth in the restroom either. I guess I'll keep going to Cocina 35 instead.
