Our father's day celebration on June 19, 2022, was filled with loving thoughts, joyful hours, and memorable moments.
Raven served our delicious, nutritious lunch. She was friendly, professional, and sincere as she was attentive to our needs, cheerful as she helped us, and knowledgeable regarding our orders.
Garret, on the other hand, served our appetizers. His humorous style made us laugh with his jokes, resulting in a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
Black Angus in El Cajon is a fine dining place because, in addition to its adequate parking spaces, the workers observed punctuality, as manifested by the timely arrival of our appetizers, main courses, salads, and beverages.
The prime rib and lobsters were cooked to perfection as we felt the tenderness and succulence of the meat while we were biting on them.
The salads were fresh, prepared with the right amount of vegetables, and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. The server mixed the beverages with the right amount of sweetness and acidity.
The table was clear of unnecessary plates, cups, silverware, and other dining necessities.
Undisturbed by noisy people dining nearby and partly surrounded by high-upholstered benches, the place was quiet and provided an unexpected but needed privacy.
Raven and Garret performed their duties not obsequiously but accommodatingly, as indicated by their warm smile and cheerful demeanor.
The confluence of a warm and cozy room, delicious food, refreshing beverages, needed privacy, and reasonable and outstanding service made our father's day celebration satisfying and worth repeating.

Service was great after we sat down (hostess not friendly). Food tasted great, but half a rack of ribs was 3 baby back ribs. Just 3. Tasted amazing, cooked well, but disappointed. Prickly pear margarita was tasty. Ambiance was confusing. Sports bar? Steakhouse? Diner? Not sure what they were going for but it was a miss.

Went on a Sunday afternoon, parking was super easy, placed was clean and the staff was friendly. I think they were a bit short staffed, cause it took a while to get seated. The waiters and waitresses were great though, food was delicious and brought out prompt! My med rare NY strip was medium, but still tasted yummy! The salmon was excellent and the burger was tasty. The loaded potato skins were bomb!!! It was a birthday dinner for me, glad we went!

They have a nice, warm, friendly atmosphere. Live entertainment for their 58th Birthday/Anniversary thing. The singer had a great choice of songs while we were there.

The portion sizes have decreased, so even the specials are no longer a great deal. Update: Got the free tiny lobster tail special with a sirloin steak purchase. Prices have increased. Update: Got the Campfire Feast for two (now $5 more expensive) and paid an extra $4 for the Wagon Wheel Sampler appetizer. Unfortunately some of the regular sidekicks are now defined as premium for an extra charge. The Wagon Wheel Sampler is about half the size with smaller portions. Update: Prices have increased a few dollars again. Ok, if you have a coupon for one of the special offers.

While my order was delicious, I ordered to go, asked for silverware, and got none. I was out of town staying in a hotel and had to use my hands to eat my cake and ice cream. :'(
Thankfully their cake is the best. :)

My husband and I had plans to go to Outback less than 10min away from us but sadly they were closed for repairs, we thought of this place because we always see it and talk about trying it. Today was the day we decided to go, the wait wasn’t long at all, the hostesses they had were polite. Our server was polite and the food was way over priced for what we ordered. The menu was limited because it’s Fathers Day so unfortunately we didn’t get the full experience. We ordered the artichoke spinach dip and let me just say, it was THE WORST Artichoke dip I’ve tried at a restaurant. Our steaks with the garlic butter were pretty good! Dessert was good. I prefer Texas Roadhouse but since we received a 20% off coupon we’ll give it another try.
