The Channel Marker

The environment has always been very Friendly and cool. But their food has always been very Abysmal. It's a great place to hang out if you're just planning on getting a drink. But if you're looking for a quality meal after a long work week or to dine with friends or Family I would recommend else where.

We've always had an appreciation for neighborhood pub and a great special! First time here, and both tried the Saturday prime rib dinner. A nice portion of decently prepared meat, a loaded baked potato and salad too. For $17, that's a deal! The place was welcoming, our server was super friendly and food was served quickly. We both thought the menu had several things we'd like to try. We'll be back!

My waitress was extremely rude from first contact when I asked her for a happy hour menu as it lists happy hour as ending 7pm online. It was 6:50 and she said happy hour was already over, "Bar time and all that." I gave my order to someone else who took an interest and he relayed it to her. But I received a cold baked potato when it came out (which they did replace with a lukewarm one). I also had to take my AMF back to the bar cause it had pineapple juice in it and when the bartender was remaking it (he said he didn't make the last one), he put what I thought was Triplesec in it. Not wanting to have to bring my drink back again, I said, "If that was Triplesec, it isn't added to an AMF. There should be vodka, rum, tequila, gin,and blue caracol in it." My waitress who was nearby started aggressively arguing with me that there is Triplesec in an AMF. She said, "If you wanted something specific, you should have asked for it." Surprised, I said, "If you look up the ingredients online, there is never Triplesec in that drink." She walked away to gripe to another waitress. (I guess we know who made the last drink.) The bartender to his credit kept his cool and explained that was not Triplesec he had poured. So we were all good. My waitress never came to check on me. I had to give my requests to someone else when another table gave their order. Bottomline, I eat out a lot and it is VERY rare I complain. This was my first time at this restaurant. Food and drinks are decent. But the waitstaff needs some training on common courtesy and drink making (or to be fired). Side note, the table next to mine got beef instead of chicken on their nachos and never received their jalenpeno poppers. No effort was made to make things right to my knowledge other than ,"Whoops sorry. It was a communication error." The lady at that table said, "I get that they were busy when we arrived, but it has slowed down. This was bad service." She had to go inside to hunt for someone to cash her out. My waitress was Gina, in her 30s, caucasian, with reddish-brown shoulder length hair in pigtales.

Sunday night bartenders terrible. I sat for 20 mins with an empty glass while listening to one bartender talk to the other one about a zit on her lip and how her neighbors parked like jerks by her house. 20 mins.! Watched others standing at the bar wanting drinks just give up and leave. I left chuckling....
