We are attempting to find real good authentic Mexican cuisine, rather than the typical chain restaurants. Today we tried Crazy Burrito. This small family owned business is located within a small strip mall. Parking is available but, may be a challenge during busy hours of operation. It was Sunday, so plenty of spaces available but, it does fill up with delivery services cars. When you enter very simple decor with tables and booths. We were greeted with homemade tortilla chips and sauces. The menu has everything you may want. For me it was tamales. We chose sweet corn and pork tamales. The corn was tasty with kernels of corn. It was sweet and think of a quality corn muffin in taste. While the pork was bland. Next our entrees. The cheese enchiladas with Mexican rice and black beans. The other was the Cubano Sandwich. The cheese enchiladas were bland. The cheese used was not your typical of cheddar or Mexican blend cheese but, Mexican cheese. Not enough cheese and made the enchiladas hollow. The enchiladas had red sauce that was burnt and stuck to the plate edges. The menu did offer a swiss but, best to ask if you ever want cheese enchiladas. The Cubano did have the pork, ham, cheese and pickle but, added spicy pork, carnitas, jalapeno, lettuce, onions and tomatoes. It was a snapshot of all their meat filling. The sandwich was tasty. Something totally different. Prices are very reasonable. Waitresses were friendly but, helps if you speak Spanish.

Local spot with great prices and even better burritos. It’s served wet with salsa verde, lettuce, and cotija cheese on top. Best Mexican food in Edison!! We like the vegetarian burrito, for 5 dollars it’s a steal!

I have been going/ordering from this restaurant for the last 10 years. Their food tastes like homemade food. It’s always fresh and they have been consistent, in terms of taste and serving size. The food doesn’t taste like can food or one of those Mexican chains. It’s more like going to Mexican grandma’s house. The service sometimes is slow. I highly recommend this place if you want simple authentic Mexican food with a homemade taste.

We found this place online. The food was great. Huge portions and authentic Mexican. I'm not sure they speak English. We had Spanish speakers in our group. The employees couldn't have been nicer. They moved tables together for the ten of us. Very reasonable prices here- cheap even. My platter was 13 bucks and I could't finish it. The guac was as good as anywhere and was made to order- lumpy, not over mixwd into putty and seasoned perfectly. You aren't going here for the decor. They are not going sing happy birthday. In fact, if we weren't starving and had little ones with and been shut down everywhere else on a Saturday night in Jersey without reservations, I would have walked out when I saw the place. Consider this a hole in the wall with really good food for cheap. Know that going in and you're good. You'll need LOW expectations for the appearance. Not a date night place. It's a gut buster Mexican digs that leaves plenty of dough in pocket.
