I recently had lunch at The Quarterdeck in Edgartown, and it was an absolute delight. The picturesque setting on Memorial Wharf, with views overlooking Chappaquiddick, set the perfect backdrop for a good meal. The Lobster Roll was simple yet bursting with sweet lobster flavor. The succulent chunks of lobster were perfectly dressed, letting the natural sweetness of the seafood shine. It was a true taste of Martha's Vineyard in every bite.
As for the Mozzarella Sticks, they were a crispy, gooey delight. The breading was just right, providing a satisfying crunch that gave way to the warm, melted cheese inside. It was a perfect appetizer to start the meal.
This spot is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor authentic Martha's Vineyard flavors in a charming coastal setting.
the best fried clam strip we've had, the clam chowder was comfy and tasty, the fish and ships was nice but not crispy as it should, like the place, the girl was super nice and fast , recommend it
Super friendly person behind the counter. Yes, it's cash only, but there's an ATM there if needed (though the fee for cash at a bank ATM is likely better). Bring cash, and you save all around.
There is no dine-in... it's a seafood and sandwich stand... but there are shared and shaded picnic tables near the Chappy ferry less than 50 yards away. Just be aware it can often be VERY windy there, so batten down your hatches (or clam strips).
Food was very good, but the clam strips were overcooked, and the oil in the fryer was nearing it's end (I ran restaurants, so I know). Recommended, but not exceedingly so.
Judy was our waitress and made excellent menu suggestions. Midwesterners need help! Glad we visited!
Best cheeseburgers in Edgartown. Totally hit the spot and I could have eaten three of them for the price of a burger anywhere else in town. If you crave a classic summer burger, perfect for eating at a picnic table, then this is the place to go.
Recently, on my first trip to Martha’s Vineyard, I wandered through the streets of Edgartown one soft summer night hoping to find a walk-up cafe where I could just order a classic New England clam chowder and fish sandwich. Following my nose, I came upon the Quarterdeck counter on Dock St. Asking a patron for the process, she urged me to approach the clerk and place my order. Best chowder, except for the cafe at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, and fish sandwich I have ever had. I even ran into a young JFK relative awaiting his order! NB: Cash only.
Stopped here for lunch with my family and we all enjoyed the food so much we came back the next day for more. The food is fantastic and the wait time is very reasonable for how great the food is. We’ll definitely be returning again! PS. Sitting near the Chappy ferry on the dock with your food is the way to go if it’s not too busy.
This is the BEST lobster roll I have ever had. Not to mention the prices were fantastic! I’ve lived in New England all my life and my favorite food is lobster. No lobster roll has beat this one. It was packed with lobster to the point where there was a handful more of lobster when I finished the roll. APPLAUSE TO YOU QUARTERDECK.
We had cheeseburgers and they really hit the spot. At $6 a pop, they’re an excellent deal. Toppings tasted fresh (LTP: lettuce tomato pickle) and good flavor. I would definitely come back again.
We had to pick up cash at a local ATM to eat here which was disappointing, but the food was good and we used the extra cash at a local cash-only ice cream shop.
Lobster rolls were packed with meat and not a lot of mayonnaise. We grabbed three to go and ate them on South Beach....delicious!
