We have never been disappointed. From the crisp and tasty potstickers, to juicy curries, sesame cookies, and fresh local vegi stir fries, there's something there for everyone. Great atmosphere and a real taste of island culture. We also got to taste their delicious catered food at a wedding last year, here are a few pics from the hors d'oeuvre's. Couldn't recommend more!

Excellent and time tested restaurant - 20+ years. The owner and chef has an amazing set of skills. The food is made from many local ingredients and tastes fresh! Come here for the great food and stay for the atmosphere. The outside seating under the trees or the heated indoor solarium is great in the winter. Hard to find but very highly recommended!

Vegan and veggie ramen are delicious with different veggies. Coconut broth almost like Tom Kha! Service was incredibly slow, we waited about 10 mins in between each dish, and our small plate came at the end. Well-tended garden seating featuring a large Willow, with unfortunate work on road /asphalt truck contributing to noise and smell.

Thai coconut Ramen with tofu and veggies was excellent. Light flavorful. Eggs cooked nicely. BBQ Korean bun was pretty good as were the pot stickers. Sauces that accompanied were less to our liking.

Lovely outdoor cafe in Eastsound. If you’re on orcas island definitely check this place out for fresh, healthy dishes. The rice plate was very customizable and tasty. The shrimp and salmon rice places were definitely the highlights for me. Service was friendly and the ambience was top notch!

You cannot go wrong with anything that includes the black sesame rice cakes at The Kitchen! We make it a point to go anytime we are on Orcas (sometimes several times)! Service is always friendly, but be aware there will be a wait for your food as it is a small kitchen. Food is delicious and fresh as can be. If we could give The Kitchen more than five stars we would - recommend you go the next time you're on Orcas! Has a kids' menu as well!

Fresh food. My fave was the soup bowl, the hot and sour was delicious esp if you ask to make it spicy. The servings were in the smaller side for the price. Tried the fried noodle, salmon salad, lemonade, tofu, the pork was the only one that was chewy and didn’t get eaten.

This place is incredible! This is my first time in town and stumbled upon this place just in time for lunch. It was so tasty, well priced, and the outdoor seating was better than I could have asked for. I appreciate that the restaurant composts and encourages the patrons to do as well. Would highly recommend!

Such amazing food we came here twice! You can tell right away when you get the food that it’s fresh and made right on the spot. At first I was nervous about the wait time (due to seeing others people reviews) but it didn’t take long at all! (It might have been because we did not go during peak season) if you happen to be in Orcas, this is a place you must stop by for for lunch.

My fiance and I had a wedding planned on Orcas Island for July 2020, and we ultimately ended up changing plans due to the pandemic. The Kitchen was supposed to cater our wedding, and they were so wonderful and supportive during the stressful time. They were responsive and had great communication throughout the whole planning process. And the food is great! Strongly recommend!

Super tasty local-centric Asian inspired menu. Szechuan pork is a favorite with locally produced pork, as well as Potsticker special with your choice of sauce, try the Peanut lime miso. Fresh seasonal veggies steamed and sauteed to perfection, soups, and shrubs, yum! Good place for kids, vegans, and gf diets. Everything cooked to order, good food takes time so don't be in a hurry.

The food was amazing! We went there on a birthday weekend to Orcas and ate there, and I can't wait to go back. It was by far the freshest, most amazing food I have had in a long time. You can really taste the fresh, organic ingredients. So flavorful and delicious. My favorite dishes we had that day were the Hot and Sour Soup and the Sweet Potato Fries. We will definitely return!

Read some of the other reviews on waits, our lunch took about 20 minutes and was worth it. We both got Szechwan Pork was was seriously the best thing I have eaten in a while. I think people get caught up in needing to do eveything fast. It's Orcas Island, sit down have a home made chai and relax. You'll be glad you did.

Food was good, wait was outrageous. Got there at 3 pm with an 1.5 hours to eat, get to the potters gallery and on to ferry. Sign outside said "fast enough Asian food." Although we normally like to take our time, we had gotten into a situation where we needed to eat quickly. We ordered our food, sat down and watched as three other tables got their food over a 40 minute time period. There is one chef who makes each meal. Although the food is good, do not go here unless you are willing to wait enormous amount of time, even when they are slow. It would be really nice if they would tell people of the unusual wait times and perhaps have some appetizers available. We had to get our food to go and they acted like this was a normal occurrence.

Over priced for dirty outside dining. When one goes to an outdoor walk up, you chalk up the dirty tables and paper plates as a cultural experience, but when you pay Over $60 for 4 lunch dishes, the reality glasses come off. The workers and I believe the owner acted disgruntled that I said very politely, "I'm sorry I have to catch a ferry can I get my money back." We waited over an hour for our food to be delivered and we were still 5 tickets back.Thank goodness I asked for a receipt because they argued with me on what they thought I should be reimbursed. Cash Only. It didn't take that long to figure out how to take my cash, but it took two girls 7 mins to figure out how to reimburse me, then they still shorted me. Half the patron around me were just as disgruntled as us. The food may have been good, but the efficiency of execution of the dishes needs to be revisited. We were there on a Thurs at 3 p.m. Cant imagine a busy lunch hour.

Great food. Quaint location. A little pricey but all ingredients are fresh and most are from local farmers.

Very flavorful. The restaurant uses organic local produce. I had the salmon special which was served with local vegetables and rice noodles with nice curry sauce. Very fresh and flavorful. However, the restaurant states that it is fast Asian food. It took more than 30 minutes to get our order.
