We visit the area every year and wanted to try dinner here, but we never did until this year. We should have come earlier. Good choices for vegetarians and meat-eaters also. Diverse menu, but likely a few things to try for less adventurous diners also. The best thing I liked was the atmosphere inside....just different and a more 'fun' look and feel to it. If you are on the fence about giving it a try, I'd say go for it. Glad we did.

What an amazing meal! We ordered straight from the specials menu with a few appetizers and drinks to start. This was our first time to the Cape as well as the first time to Karoo, rest assured it will not be our last. Do yourself a favor, if you enjoy flavorful and interesting, go to Karoo 😊

Amazing, all around. Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars on all the reviews! We eat out a lot and enjoy a wide variety of types of foods, and this is the best food we've had in a while, hands down. Came on vacation, and we were ready for something different, not just the same old clam shack/lobster thing... and they totally delivered. Wide variety in the menu, lots of GF and veggie/vegan options, good sized but not ridiculous portions. The food was well cooked, great flavoring without overpowering, and came out quickly. Especially great was the peanut soup, snail Rangoon, the lamb stew melted in the mouth, the pork shank was falling off the bone and perfectly moist, the power salad was filling but refreshing and tangy, and the special dessert was out of this world, a lavender/coconut panna cotta. In fact, everything was outstanding! The atmosphere was fun, a lovely outdoor space and porch seating are available, beautiful gardens out front. The service was good, not exceptional but totally solid, we were very happy with it. Karoo, please open up another spot out in Western Mass! 😍

Good food with a South African flair. Not entirely authentic but close to cape Malay style food. Also they have some South African snacks for sale like Romany creams, aromat and chocolates.

After I had to postpone my South Africa travel plans, I learned about this place and it was a very good decision to give it a try. My entire extended family that was a bit skeptical of traveling 40 minutes from South Yarmouth for a dinner, was absolutely charmed by the place - from its visual side to amazing service and even more amazing food. All appetizers and entrees were great (pair with Pinotage for the best experience), non-alcoholic “mocktailes” were a nice addition to the menu for those who don’t drink alcohol. As for dessert, Malva pudding is a must-try. Will be back for sure!

Great vegan options. The hummus was fantastic, and the falafel was some of the best I've ever had. Ordered the vegan bunny which was mighty tasty, but I've nothing to compare it to.

The porch, garden patio and music is what capture you. Food is reasonably good, hot and lots of choices to please. Good pricing.

Some of the most flavorful dishes I've ever had. The ribs were so succulent and I could sit there and eat the samosas all day! Has live music and an excellent drink selection.

My girlfriend and I visited the restaurant thinking this would be something different. But we found a lovely atmosphere and incredible food far beyond our expectations. We started with ribs at $2 a rib so we could try a few different types and they were the best either of us had had before. But we wouldn't have ordered them at all if not for the choice of just buying a few (glad we did). Then we both had beautiful curried dishes and finished sharing the malva desert which was delicious! So good we have looked up how to make the dessert at home. The best part was that everything was similar but totally new to anything we had had before. If we here on the cape another night we would have tried some more from their menu tomorrow. Couldn't recommend it enough! Great service too! 5 stars!

Great food and great service! Every employee we interacted with were so helpful and friendly! Our waitress, Rachel, was so friendly while also being professional. Not only was our waitress wonderful, but the food was as well! Great flavors and their portions left enough for us both to take food home and have a small meal later. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also so pleasant. We sat out on the covered deck for dinner. Overall, it was such a great dinner. We would gladly return.

Food was really incredible although I think the appetizers were much better than the entrees. I'll probably just stick with apps next time. Cocktails were wonderful. The food took FOREVER. We arrived between 6:30 and 7 and food wasn't delivered until 8:20. So don't go if you're in a rush. Overall, good meal, food was delicious, kitchen was a bit slow. My only complaint is the hostess was miserably rude. When we walked into the restaurant she greeted us with "what?"

Food is amazing. Our server Rachel is super friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. She's very enthusiastic and seems to love what she does, that is, helping diners enjoy their meals and the time they are at Karoo. We will definitely go back and hope to get Rachel again. The bartender is busy but has everything under control. She's pleasant and works well in a fast paced environment.

The family spent Thanksgiving weekend at the Cape, and we were happy we found this restaurant. We ordered some appetizer combos so we could try different things, along with our dinners. As a result, we tried most of their appetizers (falafels, stuffed grape leaves, snail rangoons, etc....) as well as several of their dishes. Overall, the food was very good. It tasted fresh & flavorful with a good amount of spices being used. The service was very good, although it was not busy when we visited (about 8pm on a Saturday night, in the off season). The ambiance was very cool - they did a nice job of decorating & making it feel like you are not on Cape Cod. It was a very nice little break from the normal Cape Cod stuff. I would definitely recommend this place if you enjoy more worldly foods with more exotic flavors.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a couple of years now and I am glad I finally got to. I love the decor and the soft lighting when you walk in - it really adds to the atmosphere and there are many authentically African items throughout the space. On the menu, there are many vegetarian and vegan options, which is important for me, but also a lot of meat dishes, which my husband likes. Our waitress was very helpful and was able to answer all of my questions about the differences between dishes. Although usually an adventurous eater, my husband tried the burger and thought it was a little more well done than he wanted, but it was good. We both agreed that the French fries were delicious. I had a vegetarian entree - pap & chakalaka - and thought it was decent, if a little sour. I would go back and try something else another time. The portions were well sized and I brought half of my meal home.

We had a fantastic dinner with friends here. We mainly chose to try Karoo because of its Vegan offerings, having one friend who we needed to accommodate. However, as I eat everything in the meat category I can say that lamb, pork and shrimp were all terrific. I found our appetizers to be quite good, but the entree's were outstanding. Good mix of more exotic flavors but not overdone. The prices were reasonable and the service staff was outstanding! It's nice to have a enjoyable meal and be neither rushed, nor ignored.
