There's almost no parking and the mini lot is right on the street, but there are also very few tables, so it works... I got the feeling like I was in the wrong place and I shouldn't have gone in to eat there initially, but the waiter was very friendly and the food was wonderful. the bread was unbelievably fresh and prices were very good.
I got my favorite Italian dish (manicotti) this time, but I definitely want to go back to try the gnocchi, since they mention that on their website.
Don't let the look (outside or in) or fact that they don't serve alcohol deter you from giving this a try. The food is great!
I'm docking a half point because they never answer the phone after 8pm on Sunday. That said, since I first visited Claudio's a few years ago, it's our go-to pizza place. Thin crust, balanced seasoning in the sauce, not too much cheese, quality toppings. Claudio himself is a trip. Generous guy - can't tell you how many times I've walked out of there with some "extra" something he was just cooking up. Too bad USC doesn't allow him to serve in anymore. It was like eating in your old-school Italian uncle's basement. But better food. Love this place.
Gnocchi'd my socks off!. The. Best. Gnocchi. EVER.
And soup.
And bread.
And chicken marsala.
And, and, and...
I loved every bite.
Haven't been there or ate there in a while but I loved the pizza. Definitely one of the best pizza places in the area! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good place to eat at while hanging out with a few friends. Good chill spot too.
Claudio, Last Saturday, Great evening.....had dinner with Phillip and Karen. Wonderful food, great service. I'm referring friends from Uniontown (Jim and Marilyn). The cinnamon raisin bread lasted about an hour, next day I had to make my own.
You're the best, Thanks

So many good things. There's just so many good foods here. My husband loves the veal. The bread and olive oil are to die for. The main courses are fantastic, and so are their pizzas. Out last masterpiece was a meatball and garlic pizza. OMG. But I love a place that can put out a killer salad, too. I was really upset with USC trying to shut him down, but I don't know all of the circumstances. So happy he's so close to home and no longer in the South Side, where we've eaten at his Abruzzi restaurant before. We like Claudio in the South Hills where he belongs.
I simply love Claudio. He always makes you feel like family and his food is full of love.

Family Dinner. We had a party of 18. The food was really great, and abundant. Very traditional Italian food. Breads, salads, antipasti, fishes, meats, sauces, pizzas, and on and on... BYOW & BYOB
Do not expect anything fancy, no need to get overdressed to go to this restaurant. The building used to be an old garage. Parking is a little difficult during the day. Evenings are easier to find a place.
Go hungry
Great Italian Food. Looking for atmosphere--go elsewhere. Claudio's is best described a a cozy, comfortable hole in the wall. Looking for the best service in town--go elsewhere. Service here is good but uneven at times. Looking for damn good Italian homestyle cooking--you've found the place. Great, fresh food cooked to order, and reasonably priced. Stuffed banana peppers are out of this world, pasta is fresh and homemade, and the chicken dishes are excellent. Great homemade bread too!
The margarita is an excellent thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients. The smell of the cheese blend on their regular cheese pizza is heavenly and the amount of fresh mozzarella and the cheese blend on both pizzas was generous! This is not a sweet sauce kind of place, so if you like sweet don't pick Claudios. The atmosphere isn't fancy - if you want that go to Il Piazzola's. But the pizza is very, very gooood!
