It sounds expensive, looks exclusive and maybe "oh so fancy" but it's not. Instead it's a warm, inviting atmosphere with a friendly, unpretentious staff. I went in jeans and didn't feel out of place. Give this landmark a try just once, and you'll be a loyal regular too. PS: the background music is wonderful too!
Eduardo is very helpful, was a bit behind their reservations but they did their best to get us seated and drinks in hand. Food was very very good, enjoyed it! The pork chop was a bit over cooked but excellent flavor
The OG Hamptons spot to see and be scene…
Ideal for family dinners, (with grown kids), engagements, life moments…ideal for 3 couples having a wine+food long drawn out summer get together. Best option off season for a cozy wood burning stove fish or pizza. If you don’t know about the zucchini chips- your behind in the game. Best Tartuffo this side of Italy. You can find me at the bar on a weekday or late nite - 💯
It's been a very long time since we dined at Nick & Toni's.
It hasn't lost its appeal by any means. Very memorable dining experience.
I heard this place was played out and passed its prime. NOT TRUE! I’ve been in the Hamptons a week and this was by far one of the best meals I had. The bartenders are top notch. The food is exceptional and the ambience is insanely personal. They are an institution. They deserve major props for their commitment to excellence.
Grew up coming to Nick and Tonis, and just returned for the first time after ~5 years. Was so excited to find the same Nick and Tonis I’ve always known and loved, with some capacity modifications due to Covid.
The tables are very spread out inside the restaurant to meet the 50% capacity requirement, and they also have a covered outdoor porch with heaters. The porch is still a bit cold thanks to the airflow allowed into the tent, so I’d recommend bundling up if you’re sitting out there on a chilly night. If you’re looking for a more casual, relaxed vibe, definitely check out the bar, which always feels like it’s full of either regulars or celebrities.
The service was extremely attentive and gracious from the moment we got there to the moment we left.
On the food side of things:
- The zucchini chips. They’re the perfect thing to start with. Each slice of zucchini is perfectly crispy and so tasty.
- Duck prosciutto salad. Lighter option with a few pieces of delicious prosciutto shaved on top.
- Soft shell crab. This was a special, but if they happen to have it when you go, get it. It was so fresh and crispy, and came on a bed of arugula salad.
- Grilled sweet potato with morel mushrooms, fava bean + leek ragu, and creme fraiche. Vegetarian or not, this is an incredible option for your entree, especially if you want something on the lighter side.
- Striped bass. This was the fish of the day and was cooked perfectly. Whatever the fish of the day is when you go, it’ll most likely be just as great.
- Tartufo for two. You need this signature dish for dessert. While they say it’s for two, you could share it with 4 people easily. Imagine a grape-fruit sized ball of chocolate ice cream with a hard, crunchy shell and caramel center. It’s mind blowing.
entree. So flavorful and creamy.

The food, service and atmosphere are top notch. Our appetizers entrée, and sides were incredible!! The warm sourdough bread w/ olives and oil is the perfect start to dining.
Overall a fantastic meal. We followed the recommendations of Ahkim, our waiter. Ahkim’s service was one of the best I’ve experienced.
The linguini as starter was a good choice. The pasta had the perfect level of spiciness.
The scallops with risotto were outstanding. I like to try different things on a menu but I’ll have to repeat the scallops with risotto next time. It was that good.
The duck milanese was very tender and a good choice as well.
The Tartufo dessert had a tasteful complexity and it was very fulfilling. It can be shared by 2 to 4 people. It’s huge.
The only negative feedback was that the bar was a bit noisy and distracting.
A popular place in East Hampton and really crowded during the summer. Food we ordered, which was mostly seafood, was good. The tartufo was huge. It can be shared by at least 4 people.
Went out for an impromptu date night mid-week, asked about availability when we arrived at 8 and older hostess quickly said it was “impossible tonight”. Went outside and made a resy reservation for 8:30pm and then enjoyed a stroll around the block before a great meal with wonderful service. The full Hampton experience I guess!
