I want to thank the entire staff for a great dining experience during our visit at Serranos on June 24th. We had a large group of 25 on the patio and everyone enjoyed the food, drink and service. I highly recommend Serranos when visiting the East Glacier area......you wont be disappointed.
I've eaten Mexican food all over California, Florida, even Mexico. Hands down the best Mexican food I've ever had! Great friendly service! I am a satisfied and stuff customer
Our trip to GNP, as expected, went in 2 things .. a lot of travel and a lot of eating.
One day while returning to our hotel in Whitefish .. we knew dinner had to be somewhere along the way since it was already late .. a friend told us that somewhere when we hit a T point there is a Mexican place .. not much of an address but we came across one T and there it was .. :) ..
Definitely the last people to walk in .. so no wait time .. well this was a good omen ..
I was driving so the ladies got all the drinks .. cadillac margarita it was, I think.. they liked it. Nachos and Salsa were good ..
I shared a Veggie Delight plate .. cheese enchilada, chile relleno + a burrito with beans, sauteed veggies etc .. I don't know about the meat options but one thing is for sure that this plate would definitely be amazing for a vegetarian person.
The other 2 dishes were chicken one .. I had a few bites and felt them to be a bit bland in front of the vegetarian meal. Decided to be in my plate only :P
The ambience decor was nice .. loved those hanging which compared the hotness of chillies etc .. there was one in the rest room too .. which I happened to read and lost track of time .. friends thought I had passed out or something :D .. came to senses from a knock .. take a note, might happen to you as well :D
The service was nice and cheerful.
All in all, it was a lovely dinner judging by what I ate. No wonder the place is always crowded .. given the remote locations, it is a good enough choice to stop by for a meal or two.
4.25 stars.
I was shocked how good the food was. I have a lot of family in NM where my favorite Mexican restaurants are. Serranos was right up there with the best. It's good enough that I thought it was worth writing a review years after I ate there. Good spicy food and possibly the best nachos I've ever had
The place was hoppin!! I judge Mexican restaurants by their margaritas and then decide if I want to eat there... It was great! It was well worth the wait to get in. We ate there 3 nights in a row and never had a bad dish. I can't wait to go back!!
Serrano's Mexican Restaurant is East Glacier's de facto Mexican offering. Opened in 1990 in a building with a long history, Serrano's has a seemingly non-stop flow of patrons (at least during the months when the town is operational). A family owned joined, Serrano's actually expanded into a few Montana towns; however, they have reduced back down to a single outpost for no reason other than the preservation of the owner's sanity. Witness to the tacos during the Rehearsal Dinner and a quesadilla during a to-go session, Serrano's showed as strong as one might expect for any Mexican restaurant found outside of an area heavily populated by Mexican natives or their nearby compadres. Actually, the food at Serrano's was easily better than a number of restaurants found in those areas! During the Rehearsal Dinner, where we packed the backyard , enough of the guests were face first in a plate of soft flour tortillas laden with stewed meats , competent salsas, and necessary fixins' that my night w
What a lovely gem! So cozy and homely. Constantly packed with crowds so go early and prepare to have wait times of over 30m.
Food is excellent and so is the margaritas
Such an awesome find in East Glacier, Montana. Clearly the most popular place in town! At least a dozen people were waiting outside just after they opened because it was so busy. This place serves drinks on the porch while you wait for your table, and even has games out back to keep kids entertained. Once you are seated, service is fast and friendly, and the food is great. We will be back tomorrow!
I had chicken nacho supreme and Asada burrito. Both were pretty good with lots of flavor. The servers were nice and quick to get our drinks and salsa.
The only downside of the place is the long wait times but other then that definitely a good place to eat at.
WOW, I was to Serrano’s back in 1994! If it is as fabulous now, as it was then, ENJOY! It was highly recommended by our guide, after rafting on the North Fork of the Flathead Rive. Turned out our guide was Doug Betters, a defensive end with the Miami Dolphins. I know he suffered a serious injury skiing, but is still a MT man.
There was a waitlist when we'd arrived, but it cleared up fairly quickly. The food was quite reasonably priced and the portion sizes were decent! I wasn't impressed with their Chile relleno or their burrito, but their enchiladas were quite decent. Their Indian fry bread (which I really didn't expect to find in Montana, of all places) was quite delicious, and the texture was just perfect, though j think the fry bread taco filling itself wasn't anything to write home about.
Whoa! Smells great in here, it's a hoppin' busy place in town, and great food!
I enjoy the atmosphere, and the service. Delectable food but a bit expensive. Cadillac margaritas, I found, were delicious. Before the pandemic, the wait was a bit much.
