Very friendly simple diner. The food was decent. Big homestyle portions. The server was very attentive, and on top of our table, even though it was a busy Sunday. They accidentally dropped my breakfast so it took longer to bring my food out and they were so gracious and put it on the house. Nice breakfast for our long drive back home.

This place was so dirty, its hard to think they passed any inspection. The cooks aren't very great either as I walked in there where many plates that had some burnt food like pancakes, hashbrowns, veggies even old beef and they still served it like its no big deal. The people there were very nice and respectable but even if the food tasted good I wouldn't give it a great review because the place was filthy.

Older lady with white hair was extremely rude. Snatched extra napkins that we asked for from us and put them back in the community dispenser “just because”. We were sat near the register where she yelled “How many?” At every customer that walked in. Literally yelled. The experience could have been amazing but she ruined it.

Best Diner experience ever! How can I start? We'll, the food is amazing, it is real diner food! The staff is friendly Kelly is the best, she will welcome you to the restaurant with a big smile and high quality costumer service skills. I loved the food, the environment, everything! It was one of the highlights of my visit to Durango.

A must visit for breakfast!!! We stumbled in randomly looking for breakfast on Main Street and Mikey hooked us up! Best green chili we had while in Durango. Every order of hash browns are freshly shredded. Pancakes are the size of your head and taste great!

I've heard this is a local favorite, but I wasn't too impressed. Maybe it's just a Colorado thing, but I wasn't expecting my dish to be drowned in green chili sauce. Otherwise everything else was grwat

Green Chili Overdose

Durango Diner has been around for many years. The boss must really like John Wayne since there are a bunch of photos of “The Duke” everywhere. Service is casual and friendly as you would expect in a diner.

We had eaten a lot of green chili as we traveled around New Mexico in the previous weeks. So we were looking forward to the Durango Diner and their claims of great green chili.

Two of us got the green chili cheeseburger. In New Mexico we were used to a small amount of green chili on the burger to give it a great kick. At the Durango Diner they serve the hamburger open-faced with a huge ladle of soupy green chili sauce over everything. The bun is immediately turned to an unpleasant mush. The accompanying fries were greasy.

The third person in our party got scrambled eggs with green chili. She had the sense to ask for the chili on the side. It was another huge serving of the same watery, soupy sauce. The scrambled eggs were fine.

Maybe that’s just the way they serve it in Colorado. But we won’t be returning to the Durango Diner.

Don't believe the rave reviews. Holy smokes this place was horrible. My family and I were in Durango for the weekend and this was the only breakfast spot that was open on Sunday that served more than pastries and coffee. We would have been better off having breakfast at 7/11. The steak with my husbands steak&eggs was a hockey puck, but a hockey puck would have had more flavor. The scrambled eggs were very overcooked, the hash browns undercooked. My hash browns tasted fishy, really fishy like they had been in a pan that cooked fish... yesterday. The service was the worst. The waitress rough and rather crude with poor customer service skills. The table behind us ordered chocolate chip pancakes for his son and when she served them, the customer asked if they really were chocolate chip pancakes because he could not see chocolate chips in them. She told him he could not cut into it to check because if he did she would not be able to give it to another customer. Seriously? Made me wonder if any of our plates had been served to someone else before they were served to us. The coffee was not even close to warm, and the creamers at the table were all curdled and chunky. There was absolutely nothing good about this place. The worst breakfast I have ever had anywhere.

Don't make the mistake we made - I believed the good reviews I saw on other sites before we walked in the door of this place. Obviously the good reviews are extremely inaccurate.

Disappointing. The diner was a favorite of ours several years ago. Apparently it has changed hands since then. The food was very average, the waitress was overly agreeable, the restrooms were filthy. We had a local recommend the College Café. Much cleaner and the food was delicious.

Great food!. After a few days of eating in Durango, we were homesick for a home made meal. Durango Diner definitely filled that need with great food, service, and prices. Just make sure you bring an appetite because their meals are oversized!

HORRIBLE. We use to love the Durango Diner and frequented it often. We went there one morning recently with the kids and waited for a half our to get waited on, thats fine they were busy. Then it took 1:15 minutes for our food to arrive since all the food was going to the bar then opened next door. By the time we got our food we weren't even hungry anymore, even the waitress was apologetic. Afterwards when my husband went to pay he explained to them about how long it took for us to get our food and all the owners daughter said was "don't come back". We've taken her advice and will never return!

So, I had stopped in Durango for a few days on my way back from Texas and decided I was going to make the drive from southwestern Colorado all the way back to Southern California in one shot... "That's one shot!!! That's one shot, Kid!!!!" - Roni from Jersey Shore, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! I also was wanting to see the Meteor Crater just outside of Flagstaff!!!! Needless to say, it was going to be a long ass day of driving and I needed some serious strength to get me through my own personal miniature Gumball Rally!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! In walking up and down Main Ave. in downtown Durango I was struck by Durango Diner each time I passed it by!!!! It looked like an old school, mom and pop, down home diner that Durango locals would frequent!!!!! Hey if truck drivers driving cross country, cowboys preparing to handle multiple bails of hay for the day, and city

A great diner!. The Durango Diner is a must stop for us whenever we are passing through Durango and is one of our favorite breakfast places in the entire state. So far we have only had breakfast there, but we think it's superb. If you don't like green chile, shame on you! The cure is amazing and the two of us can split a cure with bacon, onions(a little extra), and green chile and head off for home (Evergreen, Colorado) or the Grand Canyon with full bellies for the road. If you love GOOD hash brown potatoes, this place is for you. If you don't, I'm sure there's a Denny's somewhere for you.

Good, but could be better. The main thing that stood out in my mind about this place was that it didn't "feel" like a typical Durango tourist trap. To me, it felt more like a "locals" place, which I really liked.

I got the Bonus Cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. In my opinion, to be a green chili cheeseburger, the green chilis didn't have much of a "kick" to them. I also wish they cooked the burger to order and not "well." To me, beef cooked well done is a waste of good meat..

I know it probably sounds like I didn't like the place or the food. That's not the case.. I just wish it was better. The fries were EXCELLENT, by the way, as was the service. I'd go back, I just don't think I'd get the burger again. The prices seemed a little high, but not out of line with what I've been seeing in Colorado.

The perfect blue collar diner. Sit at the counter and watch Gary shred those huge potatoes on to the grill for the best hash browns you've ever tasted. You have to try the "Cure" or the chile relleno omelet for breakfast. The "Cure" starts with a mountain of hash browns with a huge sausage patty on top, smothered with melted cheese and then smothered in green chile with two eggs on top. It's incredible, and you won't need to eat again for two days. It's a friendly place and the locals banter will keep you smiling for the remainder of the day.

Best place to have breakfast in Durango. As long as you're more concerned with flavor than fat content. Get "The Cure"!
