Sengthong's Blue Sky Room

One of my favorite restaurants. We make sure we eat here at least once while on vacation in Dunsmuir. The Vietnamese Fish Stew is phenomenal it was spiced perfectly! I highly recommend this restaurant. There is a wait for your food since each dinner is made by Sengthong, but the food is well worth the wait.

My friends and i stopped over around 7:45 in the evening. The owner was kind enough to accommodate us and also made us feel at ease. We proceeded to have some amazing Thai food which included ginger chicken and stir fried vegetables with noodles. Special mention to the cities tofu with vegetables. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area and are looking for a great meal.

The wonderful Sengthong's Thai/South East Asian Restaurant was a few doors down from this Blue Sky Room when I discovered it a few years back, It had an extensive menu and all the Thai dishes I had were great. Times change and the community probably couldn't support a strictly South East Asian restaurant. That location (5855) is now a Mexican restaurant. Sengthong's Blue Sky Room (at 5843) has some South East Asian dishes on the menu, but it is quite limited. The meals I tried were still prepared wonderfully, but makes me long for the broader menu of before!

The best food I have had between Sacramento and Portland. I have come here maybe 5 or 6 times over the last 10 to 15 years. Always great food and a good place to rest when traveling between Oregon/Washington and SF/Sacramento. I often find myself trying to arrange my trip so that I can hit Sengthongs for dinner. It is well worth the effort and I find the quality to be what a demanding foodie in SF requires. It may be a bit more expensive than some of the other places in the area, but if you really want great food, you will go here.

Worst dining experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I ordered a burger and tuna Poke, probably a couple of the most simple items provided on the menu. Our food took an hour to come out, when upon arrival we were the only table. Our waitress payed us no attention whatsoever. And when our food was finally brought out, my Poke was prepared entirely different from how it was described on the menu. Not to mention the opposite of what traditional Poke should be in the first place. I've been a waitress for five years and I've never been so upset with the quality of service, food, as well as outrageous prices.
