Sweetest little coffee cottage on the island. I just moved to the area as of recent, and have been trying to find a coffee place that wasn’t Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks. Luckily enough, I stumbled upon this cute cottage. The atmosphere is to dream of… And the coffee is the best coffee I have probably ever tasted in years. Everyone was friendly, and they even accommodated everything I wanted in my coffee. Will definitely be here every other day since I am now living in the area. Try it out!

Very cozy coffee shop. Loved the selection of books and local pottery. Tried to coconut crunch coffee, their signature flavor. Very smooth and didn't require any additional cream or sugar. Coffee is self serve at the front of the store. The team can grind any beans you buy which made it easy to immediately use at our rental. Would definitely revisit.

Overall, I think the coffee was nice, but didn't quite touch that 5 star mark. It fullfilled my itch for coffee, but I don't think I would return for the coffee. I would come back for the books and the vibe though! The cottage is gorgeous! The people are super sweet and helpful! And it's right on the bay, just a short walk to a nice boardwalk. We got there early and it was really quiet! Loved sitting there sipping on coffee while the water lapped against the wood.

Very quaint and wonderful bookstore/coffee shop combo! The staff are delightfully knowledgeable about the book inventory and the coffee is delicious. They also have great tasteful touristy items and a small cozy seating area inside. We'll definitely be back!

Love this coffee-book shop. One of a kind with all kinds of books, local reads, local items for sale, and most importantly - coffee! The coffee is delicious and always fresh. You can buy bags of beans to go which I like so I can enjoy their coffee at home too. Very efficient - even when lines are long the employees get everything through and caffeinated quickly.

Very friendly staff. Down-to-earth atmosphere. Loved the UPDATED toy store. The services were great! When ordering ice cream, slow times you get your order fast but when busy just be patient 😌. The ice cream is sooooo good. They have made-to-order and a separate freezer for nut and dairy allergies. Amazing place!

Everywhere I travel I have to find a local bookstore. This one did not disappoint! A small collection, but good selection especially of “beach reads.” As a bonus, they have a coffee shop inside. Don’t skip the baked goods, either!

Really awesome coffee and a cool vibe. Hard to beat the smell of coffee and books when you walk in! We got some coconut crunch to take home with us per the recommendation of our friends who live on the island - was definitely a great call. Highly recommend and we will be back next time we are in town.

We always check out local independent coffee shops whenever we are traveling. We love places that are combination coffee shops and book stores. Duck Cottage is very compact which can make it a challenge if you are there to look at books. The books are in the same area as the coffee line. The line for coffee can be lengthy but they do a good job of moving it along. The coffee is good. They have a few specialty lattes and lots of syrups. It's worth a stop while in town.

Beautiful spot to add to your trip.
Everything about it was charming and fun.
The little cottage offers a great selection of books and local souvenirs as well as a great selection of coffee, pastries and drinks.
There is a small sitting area at the front, but you may as well take that coffee for a walk and enjoy the beautiful shopping center and the view that you get from the docks.
The customer service was good.
The store was very busy but we visited early in the morning.
I had one of their specialty coffees made with caramel and hazelnut flavor and they were able to make it with oat milk and non sugar. It was delicious. My husband also enjoyed his pastry and coffee. My biscotti was amazing.
I'm making this a must stop for my Outer Banks trips, and if you are passing by, take a few minutes to stop here and enjoy this, little but full of life coffee shop.
