Thorndale Inn

This restaurant and bar sits about 50 ft back off the road and looks like a plain white building but I found it to be a very pleasant place to sit and have lunch. Bartenders and the owner have been very friendly and accommodating. The food, so far, has been great and the portions are large. The owner told me, "I never want anyone to leave hungry." I think it's definitely worth going back.

Christmas Eve - Disappointed ☹️ Food was good. HOWEVER, we ordered appetizer, soup, and entree (entree included salad). Our salads came out first, a minute later our soup and appetizer. I asked the waitress to PLEASE not let our entrees come out until we were finished what was on our table. Less than ten minutes later, our entrees came out. The waitress said she didn't want our steaks to be overcooked. We couldn't even take our time and enjoy each course, as it was all out together. Waitress complained every time at the table.....from the distance to drive there to the salads never being part of an entree. Waitress literally came back to our table three times to ask about what we ordered. She then came back a FOURTH time with paper and a pen. (we were a party of two). Had to request the music to be turned on. Waitress cell phone ringing in lobby. Really ruined our nice, enjoyable, relaxed night out. Still grateful to have gone out though. Unfortunately, will go somewhere else next time.

We were invited to dinner there by an old and dear friend. There was no one else in the dinning room and only one other couple arrived the whole time we were there. The entrance looked like it hasn't been painted in fifty years. Thru the entire meal the waitress cried poor mouth and she had to come to work just to serve us. Orders were taken and drinks came fast. Most of us ordered the 6 ounce steak. Shortly after orders were in the waitress came out and said they pulled out 8ounce strakes our and started to cook them and would the price increase be ok. The friends was paying and he said ok. Seamed very disingenuous. . The meals came out and the portion sizes were redicusly small. (Remember was the 8 ounce size) I felt bad for the guy paying for it. I felt he got ripped off trying to do something very nice for old time friends. Personally I would never eat there again

We went out with another couple to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. I made reservations however restaurant was empty so not really needed. Drink orders were quickly taken and served.One drink was incorrect and was immediately replaced with no questions. Menu has a fairly small selection if you are not a seafood fan. Food was good but somewhat overpriced. The waiter was very pleasant and took great care of our table. He did wear a mask The restaurant is rather dated and carpets really need to be cleaned.
