We loved this place!! There is some major construction going on, if you’re not paying attention you can pass this gem right up. It’s extremely kid friendly, staff members were friendly and were helpful. The food comes out on the train tracks, which is a pretty cool feature. And the food was great. Nice and hot, and fresh. Totally exceeded my expectations and I (nor my son) was disappointed. Recommend taking the children. We will visit again.

A prefect place to go with my grandkids! The train theme throughout the restaurant is so creative and fun. I think they focus more on the kids, but they have a large selection of meals for the adults too! I chose a chicken sandwich with a mango salsa. Oh was it good!! It's fun to sit at the counter and have our food delivered on the train cars! There were several birthdays celebrated with cupcakes and/ or ice cream delivered by the train and the song playing. Fun fun!!!

Been going there for years. I'm local and I'll likely be going there as long as I can. They have simple and very tasty deserts. A creative diner food-style menu. This place is definitely designed around kids but with parents in mind too. Train themed of course with several model trains (even one near the front for the kids to operate) and tons of train swag all over. The good- the diner food menu is great, the staff is fast , friendly , and truly appreciate the environment they have created. Small children will have a few inexpensive games to play or even just watch Thomas the train on the TV . Some children just enjoy watching the food be delivered by train and that is fascinating enough. I've never waited too long for food or seating. The bad- nothing. If I had to be totally objective, if you go during prime hours , you'll have a to wait a bit for seating , but again I have never waited more than a few minutes. The truth- I'll be going there regularly and indefinitely. I've even gone there with my mom and no kids, the food is just that good to me.dont expect gourmet, but you'll leave satisfied and it won't break the bank either. 5 stars all day everyday .

Totally a nice place with a friendly young waitress who was nice to the kids. A couple of games, a train that brings food, and a lot of train stuff. Even a diorama where kids can press buttons to start up train stuff with lights and make things go. Had a Crisco chicken melt that was phenomenal. I expected kitchy stuff but was surprised that the food was actually really good.

I've been here twice now with my nieces and now my own child. They really have figured out the bar-style seating with kids- it's very clever to me. The bar stools pop off if they need to replace it with a high chair or a chair with a back to it. My nieces both LOVE this place (my baby is too young to know the difference). It's like a mini carnival to them. The salads here are shockingly not bad (smart on their behalf, also). Also... To have Kraft Mac n cheese, my nieces favorite, on the menu.... Well played. As a side note, I moved from Roscoe village, and was delighted to see the mini train park of Riverview!

There used to be a place like this on the southside of Chicago when I was young. Now that I have a son of my own, it's great that I have a place to go and share same experiences. Now this particular Diner compared to the one I used to go to has more extensive menu, with much much better food. The atmosphere is much better as well, as it's much more decorated in the diner I grew up in. The staff is extremely friendly, food comes fast, my son loves the joint. Which is all that really matters. We had his birthday there once it was very reasonable. Food is always great as well.

Brought my toddler in for his Birthday lunch. It’s a diner so don’t expect anything fancy. He had the chicken tenders and fries and he got his birthday cupcake delivered in the little mechanical train. With a birthday soundtrack playing all over the diner and what is great is the other families with kids join in and sing happy birthday which made my heart melt. They also deliver the food on the train which the kids love. It’s fun watching. At the entrance they also have a little train set up where they can go and push buttons to interact with. Definitely a good experience to have with the kids.

We've visited All Aboard Diner quite a few times and every experience had been good. Our children love it. The food is very good; better than you expect from a restaurant that caters to children. They also serve a nice selection of alcohol.

Recently I took visitors (including a six year old girl) from Australia to the All Aboard Diner for lunch. The menu offered many choices for both adults and children and was hot and delicious when served. Make sure to sit at the counter for your food to be delivered by the train. The mall where the diner is located has many empty storefronts and is currently being renovated -- making the initial impression not very appealing. Step inside, however, and it is a train lover's paradise, perfect for both the old and young at heart. They even offer beer and wine. The owner (I assume) was lovely. When she discovered my visitors were from so far away and how we met, she gave our little guest an engineer's cap which she will treasure for a long time. Her kindness and the delicious food made for a great experience.

All Aboard Diner has delicious food! It is a fun place for children and adults will enjoy their food. We like that they are an allergy friendly restaurant too. They have booths and tables plus a large counter where the train delivers your entrees and desserts. There is also a room for birthday parties. The owners are friendly and accommodating and are there throughout the day. The servers are excellent as well. We highly recommend All Aboard Diner for dine in or take out!
