Sommerset Hall Cafe

I've visited a couple of times before on a Friday. Once was fried chicken and the other was roast beef. Generally decent food and you always get that down home country service. My father really enjoyed the roast beef and commented several times how it was some of the most tender he'd ever had. I just wish some of the food was fresh. I could tell that the mashed potatoes came from a box which is a big disappointment for me (a former employee later confirmed it too). The corn reminded me of a public school cafeteria. We're living in the heartland so fresh should be the standard. Maybe I expect too much, I appreciate quality over quantity but I may be the minority here. I'm sure this is the way they've done it forever and they're still in business. I just think they may want to consider evolving to draw in more destination based customers. When they're open, they always seem very busy when we pass by on our way to/from Topeka.
