This place is historic. Yes the decor is not the greatest. But most whole in the walls have no decor. Go, be nice to Ms. Carter, you'll enjoy your meal and keep it moving. I ordered fish platter with candied sweets and collards. It was great.

Miss Mary Carter is like a mother looking over her children when you enter her place, I have eaten there for many years, never upset about quality and quality of food, if you love soul food you should go. Try the fried fish, oh ,my,my,my, crazy good

carter is awesome my husband goes at least once a week and loves it!! unless very busy they have fast service and a great menu and they give you a lot of food. I highly recommend !!

Call to see if they had fried fish person on other end was not very forth coming at all.At my arrival the interior was not very clean at all period.I never had the chance to order as Miss Carter was enthralled in a conversation with another lady. As she spoke to this other woman she cleaned off the counter with a order pad. The pleace had the smell of mildew and another oder that I could not describe . As we left she never broke her conversation to even say good evening I would never eat there in my life .
