Abiff's Pub

I cant speak to the overall atmosphere or much of what they have to offer. What I can say is these folks know how to be genuinely good people. We had picked up a load of wood from the Clarksville area, and were headed home to Lawrenceburg, when we had mechanical troubles, on the way home. We had just passed through Dickson, proper, and needed a place to pull off. We managed to get into their parking lot before the truck died. I called a friend, from near home, who volunteered to drive up, with his wife, in two separate vehicles, to pull the trailer home, and transport my wife and little ones, as well. It was going to take over an hour to get there, and it was 94 degrees outside. At a loss, as to what to do, because of the heat, and the toll it would take on my family, I went inside and explained the situation. The young lady serving, behind the bar, was more than accommodating, inviting us in, to wait, in the A/C, while we waited for our help to arrive. I've been around the retaurant/bar business long enough to know that at 5 PM on a weekday, people start to come in, after work, looking to unwind, cut loose a little, and relax. The last thing a group of folks, enjoying an after work drink want is a table with 2 young kids cramping their style. Yet, nobody made us feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. In fact, many offered suggestions as to what the problem may be, or who they would reccommend for repairs. Bottom line, all ended well, we made it home, no worse for the ware, but with a feeling of how genuinely good random strangers can still be. Thank you for your warmth and kindness!! In this day and age, everyone is quick to run to the Internet to complain about some perceived slight or injustice, but I think, that if random acts of kindness were celebrated, and highlighted, more frequently, more folks would adopt a better opinion of those around them. If Abiff Pub serves their customers with the same heart and kindness that they did random strangers, you'd be foolish to go anywhere else, if you're in the area!

Went there for a burger and fries. Burger was ok not a lot of flavor and the bottom bun was soggy. Fries were cooked I know in old oil because they tasted like old fish oil. I reviewed it on Facebook. This is the excuse I got. It's really a beer bar, not really a burger joint. The State forces clubs like that to sell food to keep the beer permit..I think they have it up for sale. Really you need to serve chips or something.
