Small exhibitions good place to take coffee or drink and and have conversation
A nice and quiet cafe inside MOCAD. The place used to be a car dealership, and the name is a nod to the Rule of 78s used in lending. The design is a reflection of that past too, with seating area that is essentially a spacious warehouse, and roll up garage doors that are open on nice weather days.
Cocktails are pretty good, but nothing to rave about, which is surprising since this place is owned by the same folks at Sugar House. Food is good, ambiance is super chill, and the bartenders are friendly. A nice choice for group gatherings or good convos.
Overall good food, good service, and it is at a cool location.
Prices are a little expensive but I did not really mind as it is a small cafe that belongs to MOCAD and small businesses like this is what makes Detroit awesome.
The BLT was good, but I would've liked actually bacon in addition to the bacon jam they put on it.
The latte was one of the best I've ever had, after inquiring I was told that it was made by Astro coffee, and that shocked me as I've been to Astro and Cafe 78 did a good job of keeping the integrity of the coffee's taste.
It's worth it to stop by if you're in the museum but it is a bit pricey so prepare yourself.
Nice spot... Loved the spiced hot chocolate and rosemary cookie from a nearby local bakery.
