The hiring manager is a bully. I remember I submitted two applications and I was going through homelessness. She gave me dirty looks for no reason. As for the food it is bland.

I dormed at Wayne State for 3 years, and Gold n’ Greens and the salad bar were the only things that saved me. Their meat options are usually severely undercooked or overcooked; their pasta is overcooked, dry, and gummy; the pizza tastes cheap and looks like it’s been sitting out for a while; and on two separate occasions, there has been mold on my food. I got cereal at one point, and I got a sandwich. Both the cereal and the bread were moldy. There was also a point where the chocolate milk tasted like it had gone bad. I love my university and I am ashamed that I have to state all of this as accurate, but it is. Wayne State, please correct all these issues. We should not be paying high prices for inedible, tasteless food.

Towers cafe was an amazing experience! I had never had food from here personally, but the stories I hear are pretty rad. The food itself is really awful, but they make good memories and stories! My friend found a coach roach in her mash potatoes but I'm glad that towers use organic ingredients to make their food! If you are down to eat raw food, over cooked food, or get the chicken pox then Towers is the place to go!

As the school year winds down and I'm dealing with the sad realization of having to go back home and being away from friends, at least I can rejoice in the fact that I'll never have to deal with this terrible cafe ever again. By far, the worst part of living on campus is the horrible meal-plan system, with towers cafe being the penultimate of all the gross food served at this university. The cafe is employed by students who hate their jobs, and consequentially, don't care about their work due to horrible management that not only lacks experience, but lacks understanding for their employee's busy student-schedules. Despite being the only cafe open on weekends, their weekend options are somehow worse than what's served everyday, as it seems for some reason the management only cares about the commuters who use the cafe (what about us people stuck here on the weekends with literally nothing else to eat because eveything closes?) Never go to towers cafe, do NOT purchase a Wayne State meal plan if you don't have to, and if you do, get the smallest meal plan and buy your own food.

Although quite honestly the 5 star rating is just to balance the average, there is no reason it has 2 stars. Is it a 5 star restaurant...no...but what do you expect for 7 dollars all you can eat. There is decent variety. Quality is adequate and it's cheap. What more do you want?

Would give this place zero stars if we were allowed to. Completely unsanitary! Food is nasty, roaches are often sighted IN or around the food, the choices get boring fast, and it is questionable if the food is even properly cooked.
People only eat here because we are forced to.
Edit: They served half-cooked chicken today. This place needs to up their quality or get called out on their health code violations.

I am an editing my original review. I have noticed how respectful the employees are now! Definitely a nice change! The food is also a lot better compared to a year ago. They could clean the tables and chairs more but that is me just being picky.
