This new addition to the Western Gateway neighborhood is a big plus. Though our service was a bit slow this time, the food was worth waiting for. We opted for the priz fixe and the hummus was of perfect grain, pita soft and the olives prepitted. The cucumbers had a light and flavorful dressing. The entree was well proportioned and and delicious. The accompanying drink was a generous sangria. The creme brulee dessert may have sat a few min too long yet retained structure and flavor. I'll definitely be back

Had a great experience for dinner! Two wines were on half off (glasses and bottles), mussels were heaped so high on the plate that we couldn’t even finish them. Churros for dessert were very tasty. Service was excellent.

Just got done eating one of the best meals of my life, and it happens to be in a super accessible spot across from the sculpture park here in Des Moines! We had the black seafood paella, and it was amazing! The seafood is super fresh, and is cooked perfectly. The spices are right on point, complementing the preparation perfectly, never overwhelming. We also enjoyed the fresh squeezed juice mimosa flight (who knew there was such a thing, right?!?!?!), pairing fresh squeezed cranberries and lime, cucumbers and mint, and of course the anything but traditional orange. In addition to a full bar, Nomad offers cappuccinos and lattes as well! The ambiance is wonderful and super chill, whether you want a quiet spot to sit on the sofas and have a working lunch, business meeting, a quiet romantic dinner for 2, or lunch with friends. The menu is always changing, keeping pace with the freshest ingredients available that day. We can’t wait to head back to Nomad!

Accidentally walked in on the Grand Opening! It's so beautiful and colorful inside. There was live music too. We did the chef's menu and it was amazing. Everything was really well done, creative and delicious. We will definitely be back!

The food is fantastic! I had the filet, and my wife the NY Strip with Gorgonzola cream sauce. Both cooked perfectly, both presented beautifully. Creme brulee for dessert was light, lemon flavored and excellent. The Chef / kitchen really know what they are doing. The restaurant's location is awesome as it sits across from the Sculpture park and new Kum and Go headquarters which was designed by Renzo Piano (Accomplished and highly respected Italian Architect) if you're lucky enough to get a table by the window, it feels like you're eating in Chicago / NYC. My only critique is that the service could be a bit quicker, easily fixable! Great experience overall, we'll be back!

We ordered their signature dish which included Mussels. I don’t know how they cooked it but there were broken shells all over our dish so we would either have to pick them out or accidentally eat them which was a real treat. We also ordered a Moscow mule that didn’t come in a copper cup nor taste like a Moscow mule. Also the service was horrible. There was at least a 1:1 employee customer ratio and it still took an hour to get food because everyone was just standing around. It is one of the most expensive restaurants in Des Moines as well. Definitely would not recommend as the food nor drinks were very good.

Decorations and music and service great. G Food- average. Desert chocolate obsession was awesome! Not a place I would recommand for dinner but drinks and snacks/dessert, sure. Humus was unique. I liked it pretty good. But it was no where near quality for price.
