I haven't been to this place for a few years but I came across my pictures and remembered how good it was. Now I can't wait to go back. They had a great selection of meats. Even the sides were delicious. As you can see, there are a few choices of sauces, too. I got the pulled pork and the chicken and they were both incredible. If I'm ever passing through Des Moines again, I'll definitely make a stop.

Brought two rib platters and the ribs were terrible. They were dry and tough. Either they were over cooked or were sitting to long to be served up. They should be been thrown out and not served to a customer. This was very disappointing because this makes the second time I have issues with my carryout ordered. I will not be back.

This is my favorite BBQ place in town! The food is always consistent and delicious. Their burnt ends and mac are a must! I also appreciate that they have Gluten Free accommodations!

Smokey D's has the best bbq in Des Moines, in my opinion. From tasty tender brisket to slow cooked perfect ribs to a tenderloin sandwich bigger than your head. Don't forget to get some of their delicious potato casserole as well. Employees are always helpful and friendly which makes for a great environment with great food.

can not complain at all about the food minus the portions being a bit smaller than I would like. the taste of the food is always on point. I wish this location was open for more hours as driving to their main location is slightly inconvenient.
