Who serves soup in a super wide, shallow bowl? The tomato soup was barely warm in the center, and completely cold on the outside. Flavor was spicy and texture was weird. I also ordered the grain bowl, which contained less than 1/8 of a cup of grain. Not much flavor in the cauliflower & sweet potatoes. Not impressed. Coffee tasted like it had been sitting in the pot a long time. Hubby said he liked his breakfast tacos, but they looked a little skimpy for the price (with no sides). I came here on a rainy Wednesday morning. There weren't too many other people. Service was quick, the matcha was not sweet at all, and this lamb dish was amazing (though hardy). The vibe was unpretentious and the price was reasonable. 5/5 for me, was exactly what I had hoped it would be.

Amazing food, beautiful ambience, good prices and warm service. I went w a group of friends, all of us found something delicious to have for breakfast. I had a sort of lamb pastry, it was fabulous. Very savory and well crafted flavors. We shared a caramel apple french toast, it was also very good. My latte was just on point and my friends also enjoyed their dishes.
We are from Kansas City but we will definitely return when we visit Des Moines. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👌🏻

Another day at St. Kilda and they killed it once again!! We were here yesterday and they also were amazing, our servers have been kind and knowledgeable! Brunch today was delicious and nicely plated 10 out of 10 recommend coming here for any meal!

Yes. This place is all that and a bag of chips. Normally I'm hesitant to order something off the menu that someone suggests in the review because let's get real, you can't come into town and visit a place once, order one item, and say it's the best thing on the menu gtfo. However, I am in Des Moines for a week for work and I've been here three times and can honestly say St. Kilda makes me happier than any woman ever has. The avocado toast, as many reviewers suggested, is the embodiment of true love. Go wild and get the poached egg on top and side of bacon, your mother will approve. The staff is amazing as well. Put this on your list.

The mushroom toast I had here was to die for! Very rich and indulgent so not something if you’re looking for a light bite but very good.
The green smoothie was just meh. Lacked flavor and was icy instead of smooth.
The service took forever - I waited over an hour between the time my smoothie came out and the toast. Worth it if you’re working there but I was just stopping by.
Try it if you’re looking for a cool place to stop by and have time to spare.

Marvelous place! A friend introduced me to here and I was very impressed. Staff was welcoming and the food was aesthetically visual and super tasty! Beautiful inside and unique.

Really mediocre at best. Bloody Mary is really bland. Service was actually bad. Nobody came to check on us or even take our dirty plates. Had to walk inside to request a check. Forgot part of our order. Hope that it was just a bad day but really the food was mediocre too.
