Definitely a gem. The place was packed but still got right in with an awesome seat. The staff was super friendly and very attentive without that feeling of lingering over attentiveness. Most importantly the food was timely and amazing. Portion sizes are well worth the already pretty low prices, as an appetizer is a meal in itself. The catfish fingers were by far the best catfish we've had and the brisket was super good as well. We will definitely be returning and recommending this place.
Great food and drinks. The owner and is his wife are awesome people too. The best part was they had some service members in the house and one was going to be deployed. The owner made an announcement to the whole restaurant and thanked them for their service and the whole place was packed and all stood up clapped and cheered. One of the coolest things I've seen awhile!
Great brunch spot!! They had us put in our names, grab drinks, and wait in the car. Which was fun still. We got in on a Saturday about 11 after a 45 min wait. The stuff is all super friendly and very attentive. They have a HUGE menu!! The bloody Mary’s are simple but good. Definitely a return spot especially during the summer with the outside seating open!
The Bloody Mary flight wasn't bad, but truth be told, I didn't really like that they weren't over ice. I'm just not used to them that way, so it could be more of a me problem, but the flavor was so great! We loved the green one! I ordered the avocado toast and I loved all 4 of them' especially the Eggs Benedict one. I was so full and struggled finishing, but powered through because I don't think they would have been as good as leftovers. My husband got the brisket breakfast burrito (not pictured) which I did get to eat his leftovers the next day because he was so full, he couldn't finish it. Leftovers were just as good as it was fresh. All in all, we had a great meal and it's a perfect brunch spot!
This little restaurant has a LOT of character. It's a wooden, cabin-like building, perfect for its lakeside location. There is large bar seating area both inside and outside. There's 80s music jamming when you walk in. The food is delicious. I enjoyed the chorizo bacon hashbrown plate, and my husband had a country fried steak. There is a nice breakfast drink menu, but they serve lunch and dinner also. Some breakfast items are available all day. The staff were friendly. This place definitely put a smile on our faces. We will definitely be back.
This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant and bar !! I was there on the evening of the 4th fireworks and my breakfast with my companion Lilly is what brought me back to the fireworks celebration. The location is right by the river & walking path overlooking Des Moines.
Nice for dinner. Quiet Saturday. We had bloody Mary flight, sweet potater tots w/marshmallow sauce, buffalo wings, and chicken and waffles. Would recommend.
BY FAR, one of our favorite breakfast and lunch place in the Des Moines area. Great prices, some of the nicest staff, and delicious food with numerous options to choose from. Head to Mullets for your next meal! You won’t regret it.
