Had dinner here last night for the first time. Loved it! The atmosphere was perfect, I love the way the place is decorated, the food was all delicious! I was actually sad that I was so full I couldn't finish every bite. Our server Rachel was the best! She gave great recommendations from the menu. Answered all our questions patiently even though the place was busy. She was also fun which I always want when I'm out to eat. I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!
My wife and I have dined here now 3 or 4 times in the last 2 years. We've typically ordered 2 or 3 dishes, and 2 drinks each on each occasion. To date, we've never been served a poor food item or had bad service. I'd recommend the fish tacos, the scallops which only 2 large pieces are served on a corn mix that is utterly delicious, the Asian Lettuce Wraps with a superb peanut sauce, and if you like grilled Brussel sprouts theirs are excellent. I know, Brussel sprouts... but just try them. They fried with bacon...yes bacon.
Their drinks are usually perfect, including a dirty martini or White Russian.
Try Roca, it's a great place!
Amazing food with a unique atmosphere. More modern food with tasty tweak to each dish. The food is a little pricey but totally worth it. The black bean balls make for a great appatizer.
Perfect atmosphere for great food and wine! Reminds me of a great wine bar restaurant in New Orleans with the exposed brick wall! Nice surprise on Court Ave!
Finally another bar that understands drinks and proper preparation. Food? Who cares the drinks alone are worth the trip. Great Job!
Had dinner at RoCA last night and it was phenomenal. We had been looking at the menu online and had several smaller dishes picked out, but when we heard what the specials were we opted for those.
I had a filet with grilled green beans and Pom frites. Absolutely amazing flavor in every bite. My wife had the pasta with sherry cream sauce and it was just as good. We also had the crab croquettes and they were also incredible.
The specialty drinks are very cool. Had the Smoking Gun and Fig one with candied bacon. Really started the Friday night off perfect.
Our server was Sam and he was attentive, knowledgeable, and very polite.
We will definitely be going back soon.
Ribeye and Mac and cheese apps are delicious! Stuffed pork chop entree is tender and the cocktails are great. Would definitely go back!
Great ambiance and vibe to the restaurant as a whole. Place was pretty busy and only a few 2 person tables were open at 6pm. I went and sat at the bar and got exceptional service from both bartenders. I got the fish tacos (cod) and truffle fries for dinner. The truffle fries were excellent with the perfect texture and taste. The fish tacos were superb and definitely worth getting. I got the special for desert which was a brownie with caramel, whipped cream, and salted pretzel pieces. Everything was excellent and worth a try if you are in town visiting or a local.
REALLY great food and cocktails. We enjoyed sampling different drinks and couldn't resist dessert. Everything was amazing and the service was spot on. Can't wait to return.
Came here for a birthday dinner and it was an amazing experience. We enjoyed every detail included in the entree, shared plates and drinks. Can't wait to come back and try their pork belly taco
Small restaurant with a chill atmosphere. Great food, unique drinks and friendly service! A great spot if you are out for a date night or a small gathering with friends while in downtown Des Moines.
Went there last night and it was awesome! Abby and Devin were the bartenders and there recommendations were awesome, also very friendly! Highly recommend the "Smoking Gun". Applewood smoked bourbon, maple bitters... It was out of this world! Will go back!
Wow food was just amazing. Drinks were amazing. Smoked cocktails!!! We had a party of 4 and went with shareable plates. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavors. Pork belly tacos were my top choice. It has such great flavor. Server was on top of everything and the experance was something I would love to experience again. You have a great thing going.
Always incredible food. Absolutely love this place. Atmosphere is busy and loud, but so am I, so I enjoy it. The service has always been solid. All sharable plates, so you get a taste of everything. I highly recommend the pork medallions and the Graziano flat bred. I'll be back!!!
