Menu items that are to die for:
Grilled Niman Ranch Pork Chops: 2 giant pork chops served over a sweet potato hash. Recommend medium cooking temperature.
Seared Sea Scallops: 5 scallop medallions served with lobster mashed potatoes, asparagus, topped with beurre blanc sauce.
With so many incredible steaks to choose from, I recommend The New York Strip Au Poive (translation: with pepper), a 14oz or 10oz peppercorn encrusted New York strip served with haricot verts (pron. hair-ee-co vare/green beans), and dauphinoise potatoes.
If you are curious about Django, come sit at the bar on a Friday night and let us take care of you!
We were looking for a new place to add to our mix for dinner and cocktails. We had been recommended by several people to give it a shot and we were definitely not disappointed. The Escargot was amazing. The Scallops were unparalleled and the spinach goat cheese mac was a great new experience. To top that off happy hour wine was very well priced. We will definitely make this a regular addition to our mix of restaurants. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service.
Perfect circumstance, Perfect dishes, and Perfect server. Those three combo are matched with my favor. I strongly recommend this place for your special celebration. The only thing I want to suggest is to warm each plate before they serve. I ordered s Django Bar stake, which was awesome, but the plate was not hot so the dish became cold swiftly. Anyhow, despite of the temperature of the plate, I was satisified with the food, services, and circumstance of this place. Great! Thank you for making memorable experience.
Visited Iowa in Oct.2021. We were trying new cuisine and was led to this place. The outer and inner appearance of the restaurant was hip and cool, and classy. When you walk inside, you are greeted with happy and smiling faces. The first floor gave me the mellow, contemporary, younger crowd, but still classy. On the second floor (is where we were) it’s very elegant and fancy. The table settings were beautiful. We have never had French cuisine before, so we had to ask a lot of questions about everything. The waitress was polite, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel like we were the only people in the room. Ok.. we ordered poutine and an additional French fries cooked with duck fat.The poutine was good. It had just the amount of everything and those combined flavors were there. The fries though…the were ok. We could not tell any difference between regular fries and those cooked with duck fat. We visited a restaurant in L.A. that had delicious fries, we naturally wanted to compare, but the other place won that race. The duck confit had and excellent presentation and the duck was not tuff and very flavorful. It also microwaved well the next day. This place is not very kid friendly. The menu was limited in options for children( well at least my child.) The space is not very disabled friendly. I have mobility problems and it was difficult to walk up and down the small curvy steps. Overall I give it a 4/5.
All of the food was honestly incredible ranging from the appetizers: bread and cheese plate and crispy onion rings to the entree: salmon to the dessert: amaretto mouse and the variety of cocktails we tried. But what truly made our experience was the service of our server Lauretta. From the moment we were seated, she served us with such a high level of warmth, friendliness, and attentiveness that truly made our 1 year anniversary extra special! She was so lovely to talk with, gave us the best recommendations for every single course and brought all of our food promptly and professionally. We are out of state but we would honestly come back again just for the pleasure of seeing her again and highly recommend that you visit should you be in the area so she can make your night as well. Thanks again Lauretta!!
Delicious food, nice staff, good atmosphere. Waitress forgot to get us one of our drinks so she comped a dessert for us; that made us feel valued. Could be argued portion sizes are slightly too small given the price. Still will be going back to try some more food though!
Great food, drinks, and service during our first time here! Updated - our second time here in sept 2021 was equally as great! We tried new foods this time, the scallops, bouillabaisse, escargot, and chicken were delicious, as were the salads and chocolate dessert. Also the no corkage fee to bring your own wine is awesome!
Came in to just have drinks while waiting on a dinner reservation at another restaurant. To my surprise, the place was so nice. Sat at the bar to enjoy a martini and ordered a Chef's Choice Charcuterie board. So beautifully presented and tasty.
