This review is based on 1977-78 the last time I was in the white horse. I was looking for something else on Alameda on Google and was taken back 45 years. Great bar. We used to go here alot

Moved to the neighbourhood end of 2020 and only got go here once before it closed… permanently? Anyone know what happened?

For a local dive without any pretense, look no further. The White Horse is exactly what a bar should be. They have good drink specials, billiards, a jukebox, and Rich, the owner, is great!

This place is amazing. Bias. Dive bars are not for everyone. But this one. It's above it all. Great scene, great music, great service. Richard is awesome and will keep the jukebox on the hits that belong in a bar like this. Please visit. Keep this place going. It's AMAZING!!!

Cheap drinks, great service (Thanks Richard), and an amazing juke box! They also trap/neuter/release their local community cats and feed them.

If you love dive bars, great oldies, and pool shooting this is the spot. As my fiancee noted, "this is the coolest basement you could ever have". Go and support the local spot. Richard is the owner and is a good guy. Being a restaurant person, I can see myself here shooting pool and decompressing many nights a week. Of you are in the Bel Mar neighborhood this is a gem. A lost relic in the dive bar scene which has been taken over by corporate chains.

I thought as dive bars go this place would be divier than most. It is, but Richard behind the bar was very nice. My friends and I had a very good time. I will be back soon. Highly recommended.
