As someone who enjoys smaller shows, this venue is amazing. It's a comfortable venue without too many bells and whistles that has a nice atmosphere and is well thought-out. The music sounds incredible on their funktion-one sound system. I tend to feel overwhelmed when there is an excess of really bright lights at a show, but that is not a problem here. Lights are mellow and the music is played at an appropriate volume (bring earplugs though.) Seriously, come check this spot out.
PS: I don't drink alcohol and I was very excited to find out that they have a long list of non-alcoholic options, from sodas, to juices. So thank you for doing that. I feel seen.
Great sound on BOTH sides. If you enjoy underground electronic music! Make sure to hit the main room for a show. The patio is pretty big with plenty of seating and good conversations
this is my favorite venue in denver!! they book amazing artists (local + global), have a pumpinnnn sound system, two rooms + a smoking patio. staff is great, the atmosphere is great, and the vibes are always on point. come dance at the home for the underground 👾
This is by far my favorite venue I’ve been to in Denver. The staff is incredible and friendly, from FOH/security to bar and beyond. The system is legendary and I knew about it before I even moved here from the east coast. The fact that blackbox not only brings in international artists that sell the venue out but still also have free nights in the lounge and even $10 shows on Tuesdays is a total win. This is a spot for the audiophile like myself (where you can immerse yourself in not only reputable artists but support locals as well) or a chill spot to spend a fun night out with friends without getting too expensive. Nicole has and continues to do an fantastic job. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Best bass music venue in Denver, hands down. Consistently killer lineups, legendary sound system, intimate vibes in a well treated and dimly lit room.

This place has solidified itself as the ONLY place to be for true bass music. Bringing up and coming artists as well as well established artists you will see at bigger venues but get the intimacy of a small show!
Nice spot even on a Tuesday night! Saw some cool underground Dub step acts. Nice outdoor area to kick it in. Bartenders were very nice and she was even easier on the eyes 💋
I love that The Black Box always has a save environment for me and others around! The staff/security are always so helpful when anything is happening and needing to take action. I go out alone a lot, and there are some weird situations I have ran into. it’s nice to know there are people who care and look out for the community!
Denver is too spoiled with the Black Box, the underground thrives here because of them.
