Cool dive bar on Colorado blvd in Commerce City with some huge, cheesy, fried tacos. If you're a fan of the burgers at the Skirted Heifer; you'll love the fried tacos at this place. They use so much Colby cheese it literally oozes out and caramelized at the corners of the taco. My fave was the steak taco. They also serve burritos, enchiladas, tostadas and breakfast all day.
I love this family establishment! It has been around for a long time. Great place for breakfast and lunch for fried tacos and a football game on Sunday!!
I haven't been here in over 20 years and the food is still great as is the service and atmosphere!

Driven past El Toro dozens of times, almost w/o noticing. A friend suggested we go there -
all the way from Wheat Ridge. Glad we did. Food is terrific. I'll be back.
This place has been around for ages. I had eaten here once 10 years ago before I started doing reviews and had forgotten about it. Thank you to Vince for his housepitality and his stories on his family ties to this place. Highly recommend the fried tacos. I couldn't remember which were my favorite so I ordered the combo which includes one steak taco, one beef taco, one chicken taco. And the winner is in my opinion the steak taco. They're green salsa ties everything well together. I will say they are greasy but then again I am a chubby Hispanic male which enjoys my greasy food LOL
Love the steak beef tacos deep-fried and with a slice of avocado. Love the signature salsa, which is hot tasting. Tried a glass of red beer, which was surprisingly good. Friendly staff, large tv screens to view sports, and a bar in the establishment.
As always El Toro hit the spot... Best tacos.!
But... This time I have to say yes it has changed they're no longer crispy greasy burnt cheesey Damn near health food tacos.
The atmosphere is the same low key we'll see what our next trip brings.
This is a hidden gem that has stood the test of time. I have been a customer since I was a teen and love this place. The simple menu is on purpose and it works. Best beef tacos with the melted cheese. I think they are going g to do some renovations soon which I'm happy for. Visit this small biz as I highly recommend for breakfast or a quick lunch.
