Husband and wife owners, wife does the sweets and husband does the bread. I get a huge crusty round loaf that bigger than my head for $12. Nice thick crust. You can noisily tap your fingernail on and it toasts up delightfully. I can’t speak for the sweets because I haven’t tried them. But the bread is delicious. If it was sourdough, it would be perfect. I am from San Francisco originally and I’m always on the hunt for a delicious crusty, chewy bread.

Be sure to get a sample of any breads you are on the fence with, you won’t regret it.
We have been coming here for years to grab all of our needs for big dinners and gatherings. Our friends have insisted on keeping the tradition going of having The Denver Bread Company for Christmas, New Years, and St. Patrick’s Day.
It’s warm and welcoming on the inside. It’s old fashioned goodness so be ready to pay with cash.
I love The Denver Bread Company and have been buying bread there for years. They usually have samples, so I buy whatever awesome bread I happen to fall in love with on any given day. I stopped by today and the baker was on vacation, so no bread today, however I’m not too sad about this as I was FINALLY able to pick up a bag of their bake at home pizza dough and the super friendly staff member who helped me out offered my toddler a strawberry basil cookie sample…total lifesaver!! They also have the most amazingly mouthwatering cookies of all times….
We are from Colorado Springs and stayed in Littleton over the weekend for the Classic Car Show. I was looking for a good bread store on the web and came across the Denver Bread Company. We made the 30 min drive and were not disappointed. Old world charm of the bakeries I remember from my childhood. Staff were super friendly and explained all the different breads they had. We ended up buying 2 loaves along with some choc chip cookies. Because I had done my research ahead of time. I knew they only accepted cash or check so we came prepared. Yes it's a pain because I generally only carry credit cards but it's worth the inconvenience. Great store, great taste and great staff along with VERY reasonable prices. Will definitely b back when we r in the area!
We've been coming to The Denver Bread Company for years and it's still one of our favorites. "Grab & go", cash only and unpretentious. A number of great bread options, but their Laundry bread in the attached picture is amazing!
Best bread in the State of Colorado!!! Me (right) with Master Baker, Greg Bortz! (left)
Every time I visit Denver (a couple of times a year) I stop in to get bread for my visits. I really like their Pizza dough and what is not to like about their sourdough bread. I would love to see an even greater selection of bread. But finding a great fresh bread bakery makes it worth while. The competition is increasing in the Denver area I hope that they can keep up with the grown sophistication of consumer tastes. Thanks for the great work you do.
We were looking for a hearty bread to go with our bubbling pot of soup at home. Denver Bread Company was nearby. So thankful we stopped in! We got the signature Boule. AMAZING! The crusty bread with a soft center filled with air pockets was perfect. We also picked up a few cookies which were equally delectable. My only question is why cash only for bread and cards ok for cookies?
Best thick crust European style boule in Denver! I've truly triee every bakery of note in the meteo area. No comparison, even before the ridiculously tasty Victory cookies. Bourbon cookies? Yes!
It's hard to find a solid bakery this side of the Mississippi, especially being from the northeast. This place is the only quality bread I have had since moving. The only bread you ever need to get from this place is the potato loaf. I usually like to switch things up but I will never order anything else, it's that good.
**They do not accept cards...go in with cash!!**
