If you like "real" Chinese food, this is the place for you. Service was fairly quick, most things are not precooked. The hot and sour soup was great, we enjoyed all of dishes we ordered. You will notice 2 Chinese language newspapers in their entrance. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended, our check was in Chinese and we were probably the only customers who could not read it.

I went to JJ's late at night with a small group. The top 10 nearest Chinese places to me were all closed. The fact they are open late is enough for a positive review. If you dine in, you get house soup and a dessert. Everyone was happy with what they got, and the prices were great. If I were to offer a bit of criticism, it would be about the smell. Most of the resturant smells like a fish tank. It's probably because they have such a large variety of fresh fish in tanks at the door. It's not overpowering, and I quickly forgot about it by the time my food arrived (what was quite fast). It's probably unavoidable given the fresh fish, but if your very sensitive to that sort of thing it's something to be aware if. Overall a pleasant experience, and I will likely be back.

The food is always great here. They have dim sum, but it must be ordered, rather than seeing what the carts bring. They have live seafood tanks and sell a lot of whole fish, lobster and crab. It is an extensive menu and includes some 'American' dishes. The place seems pretty authentic and seems like an insiders' place.

I was lucky to only wait 10 minutes for a seat! This place is justifiably popular.Cash only, old-world Denver, CO atmosphere, and fantastic dishes.Started off a glass of Avignon Blanca and a small order of the off-menu mishmash, which was positively buttery.Next was a Combination Cocktail, which included a huge variety of seafood. Finally,I got a bowl of Clam Chowder my least favorite dish of the meal and a half-dozen clams of various kinds. I would definitely come back here, and better yet, bring friends who were new to Denver, CO !

The food here was the best authentic and exotic Chinese I had found in Denver. I took my family here when they visited from out of town. Sadly, my favorite Cantonese restaurant has CLOSED ITS DOORS. New owners are replacing it with "Yummy Szechuan"

Really authentic Chinese dishes! There are live seafood in tanks by the door and it can be a nasty odor. I like the hot pot specials and their stir fried lobster with ginger and scallions. Service can be a hit or miss. The decor is atrocious.

Very traditional, not Americanized, hole-in-the-wall Cantonese restaurant. Chinese-style service means you will have to get the waiter's attention for ordering and water refills, and don't feel bad about needing to do so. If you're up for adventurous food, try their chilled beef tendon appetizer, seared radish cakes in XO sauce, and pork blood curds with chives.

If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, this is your place. We all spend so much time at the "dime a dozen" Chinese places, and we forget that we're eating an Americanized version of Asian food. Think of an authentic Mexican restaurant and then think of Taco Bell. That's the same comparison. JJ Chinese is a place to try something new. Get a little crazy. See something interesting in the fish tanks? Get it! If you're not that adventurous, try their version of the stuff you usually get at the neighborhood Chinese place. You'll be amazed at the difference and how good it is at JJ Chinese.

Best sesame chicken in Denver!! Fabulous special menu deal after 9:30 pm and fun wait staff (except the grumpy one!). This is a legit chinese restaurant with live fish and lots of authentic menu items, like bamboo fungus and cow stomach "honeycomb". Get past that and it's all delish! Our favorite chinese in Denver!

First, when you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by tanks of fish. The food is authentic Taiwanese food and the restaurant is a lovely place to have dinner. Be sure to fill up on rice, as it is refillable.
