Illegal Burger

I visited Denver for a work conference. Prior to this, a colleague mentioned this place and how good it was. The night I arrived we ate here. The burger was the best I had in such a long time. I had the Birria Burger with the truffle fries. I left happy. A few days later we came back with other colleagues. The second time around I had the Slinger...with truffle fries. Summer and Paul were awesome. We got there at 8:30pm (They close at 9) and they had no issues with us finishing our meal after closing. We didn't feel rushed at all. Illegal Burger was recommended by a family member that lives in and around the Downtown Denver area. The atmosphere and location are conveniently located and within walking distance of 16th Street, Ball Arena and downtown attractions. The food was tasty and did not disappoint - 5 Stars easily! My only complaint would be that the music was loud and made it difficult to hear the cashier ringing up our order. Hands down would recommend for a tasty burger and special cocktail, beer or boozy shake.

Ate here for the first time. The burgers were really good, so were the fries. A quaint little burger joint. I plan on returning to try more of the menu. The number of things to choose from were good they put thought in to all the burger options available. You can't call it a fast food burger place as the burgers are much tastier and more gourmet than your average burger place.

got the birria fries. they were so bomb! much better than expected. asked the cashier for his recommendation and he did not disappoint. the vibe inside was nice but the outdoor seating is even better. on the back of writers square but in a great location to people watch. kind of crowded during lunch on a weekday. probably a good sign!

Wandered over from the Performing Arts Center after seeing a show at the Buell. Great experience all around. Such unique burger options that we decided to order 4 and split them each 4 ways (they even quarter them in the kitchen and brought out the plates already “shared” for us. We had the kingpin, underboss, birria, and the bacon bandit. All were great… I think the Bittia and Bacon Bandit were my favorites. The server/ host was fantastic, clearly proud of and passionate about the food. In summary, this place has a fun and casual burger joint atmosphere with truly unique options, and the service was at a level I would expect at an upscale restaurant.

Had an absolutely amazing experience in Illegal Burgers. The staff was super friendly and quick. I came with my parents and we ordered the three fry combo thing as well as the birria burger special. The food was just delicious. We completely licked our plates clean. HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a quick and satisfying bite to eat as well as incredible service.
