It took a while for the staff to acknowledge me. The food was amazing. They cooked my tenderloin perfectly and it was super tender. I caught the house salad during happy hour and it was half off. It was a nice birthday meal.

Came in for an early dinner before going to the theater on a Friday night. We were promptly seated and served a complimentary glass of Champagne from the chef. Service was very good and things came out quickly since were in somewhat of a hurry to get to the show. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent, every dish we got was delicious. The tomahawk ribeye was served beautifully and was enough for 3 people, with the addition of some sides. Japanese milk rolls and sunchokes were my favorite sides. I will certainly be visiting again.

Hands down, the best happy hour in Denver - both taste and price-wise. We stopped in around 4:30 on Friday and it was fairly busy. There were tables available but we opted for the bar and sat in front of the oyster shucking. If Donnie is working, this is the best seat in the house! Not only was he seamlessly opening all the shells, he had us laughing all night and is half the reason I’ll be coming back here. The other half is how good the food is. The meatloaf is a can’t miss (and better than your mom’s), croque monsiour is still melting in my memories, oysters were fresh and juicy, Mac and cheese croquette feels like childhood and the garden salad was anything but a side salad. Drinks were well crafted, including their cocktails on draft! Did I mention we spent less than $40 each? Overall, great experience and I cannot say enough good things about this place!

Very intimate and comfortable atmosphere, fantastic service from attentive waiters, and top notch apps and entrees. Meats are pre-cut to shareable sizes and each bite was heavenly. Highly recommend getting steaks with chef Maxwell style

Really cute set up; upstairs table for our party of 4 was perfect. Sides were the best part of the menu: fried rice, cauliflower, so good. The prawns were absolutely amazing. unfortunately my least favorite part of the meal was the steak. No seasoning and no flavor and I sent it back to be recooked and it still came out wrong. Chimichurri saved it. They say dishes are served to share I would say between 2/3 small people. my husband is a big guy good thing he ate before we came. $500 was our tab with drinks & 20% gratuity included which is becoming norm for downtown (Nicole was sweet and perfect service for our needs) but 18% autograt is usually standard. 4 stars because it’s overpriced but some great highlights.

Amazing hospitality. My wife and I showed up for dinner without a reservation. Javier greeted us, and we asked if we could sit at the bar. There was only one barstool available, but he was super accommodating, and set us up as soon as a second barstool opened up. Just really showed us that he wanted us to be there and have a great experience. Brent took care of us at the bar. Made some great drink recommendations. There was a small issue with one of the dishes we ordered, and Brent went above and beyond to make it right- to the point that I almost felt guilty about it. I just can't say enough about A5s dedication to hospitality. Very impressive. Then the food! Incredible burger, and great salad.
Overall, the south side of downtown Denver has mostly bad restaurants if you care about a eating well, drinking well, and having a memorable experience. A5 is a rare beacon of quality in that area. I will be frequenting this place, that's for sure. Javier and Brent, we really appreciate how great you both were to us.

It was so good, from the start to the end. The food was absolutely amazing. I took my mother out for her birthday. She and my son both devoured their sirloins. I am a vegetarian so I wasn’t expecting much to choose from, but I was wrong. They had quite a few delicious vegetarian sides to choose from. The service was phenomenal. Our sever was attentive and friendly. The manager was great, he stopped by our table to ensure that we were enjoying our evening and to say happy birthday to my mother.

Six of us stopped in for dinner; we started with an assortment of fresh oysters from each coast, followed by "family style" steak, which the chef had cut into bite-sized pieces for easy sharing. Meat was cooked perfectly, wonderfully tender with just enough seasoning. As for sides, the whipped potatoes were nice, while I found the beets a little too sweet for my taste.
Will definitely be going back. I'll want my own steak next time.

This dining experience was incredible. We got great recommendations on what to order and we were not disappointed. The Chickpea Fries were a sweet surprise and the Hamachi was so fresh. The A5 Wagyu is expensive and is only about 4 bites, but it is so tender it melts in your mouth. We either loved or greatly enjoyed everything and would go back again.

Phenomenal food! Our favorite was the steak tartare starter, the way they prepared the milk bread was sooo good!
Steak and asparagus were solid as well, probably wouldn’t reorder the Caesar salad as it didn’t stand out as much as the other dishes.

Food was incredible, service and vibes were amazing, too. We had tri tip and prime rib, along with crème brûlée, asparagus, Japanese milk rolls, and scallop ceviche. All couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend!

Pros : the steak tartar on milk bread was phenomenal. The Denver steak and tri tip were cooked perfectly. Personally the Denver steak was way better . Service was great and so was the ambiance
Cons : the Caesar salad was average . The old fashioned was poured from a tap and the wine list is minimal. desserts were ok. For a top steakhouse in Denver I expect more .

I am truly overwhelmed with this experience. Brian was such a wonderful server and bright human. He was highly knowledgeable and answered our questions!
The Old Fashioned is incredible. You can tell each drink is crafted with care.
The food is on another planet. It is so incredibly thoughtful and meticulously prepared. The "Chef Max" style is the WAY TO GO. Dipping the milk bread into the bone marrow is an actual chef's kiss.
I can't wait to go back and eventually try everything on the menu!
Thanks for a wonderful experience Brian, Heather, and Chef!

What a great experience! Our server was so bright and friendly and made amazing recommendations which is important in a place where EVERYTHING looks good. This restaurant was on my list to try for quite a while and when I finally made it in I wished I had gone sooner. This will go straight into my top 3 steakhouses in Denver. I had the Maria Tri Tip and Mac Croquettes along with several other stolen bites that were just as good. Go Check it out!

Instead of everyone getting our own steak, we split the 30oz bone in strip with the bone marrow add-on. All the sides were incredibly delicious. Whipped potatoes were so creamy. Sunchokes have a great flavor and cauliflower texture. Spinach side dish is surprisingly bright and goes well with the classic steak dinner. Cabbage was unique and worth trying with a crispy sesame crust. The beef tar tar sandwich was surprisingly good too - well seasoned with a crispy bread. We ordered all the dessert. I personally loved the passion fruit chocolate sesame cake because the tanginess and slightly savory flavor mixed really well together. Second was the torte but mostly because of ice cream. Least favorite was the creme brule. Overall loved the dinner - came out to around $450 for 3 people.
