While not the old old school down south and more upscale, less cramped now, it is still the same old good food and margaritas. Life is about refills and making the best out of it. Enjoy

The Rio brought the sunshine to my December day! Sipping their famous margaritas on the patio, while enjoying a warm 60 degree day in December felt like a mini vacation. The festive lights and friendly staff warmed me up faster than the tequila, and the delicious food was the perfect finishing touch

I enjoy their margaritas on the rocks, and I appreciate that you can order a "mini margarita" if you don't want a big one. Salsa is always good. I ordered spinach enchiladas, and the plate was so hot when it arrived that the black beans were bubbling and steaming. (I like hot food). Atmosphere is pleasant. Solid choice for "Tex-Mex" food.

Food was good in general. We are Mexican and, surprisingly, charro beans and tortilla soup were good compared to other Mexican restaurants in America. Quesadilla and taco combos had good taste. Coffee a bit cold. Nice service, really fast at noon, and very nice atmosphere in the place. Decent prices.

The Rio has been a staple of our for years. It used to be all about the Margarita’s. The food…. not so much. That has changed. Chicken and sausage fajitas were incredible. As was the steak and portobello fajitas. The show was stolen, however, by our server Andrew. Very seldom is service so good that even though the food is good, you return twice in 3 days because of the service. Andrew is that good! Attentive, knowledgeable, sense of humor, not overbearing. We will be back for the Mile High Skinny Margaritas and sit in Andrew’s section. The Rio is lucky to have him.

Great HH spot, full restaurant and bar with nice tacos and fajitas. I'd return for sure. Their salsa is one of the best, if you like it spicy. Make sure to get a reservation.

Sitting next to my brother while I write this asking for his opinion on our experience and to quote, “I thought it was so good! Best burrito I’ve ever had!” We knew it was going to be good when the pork and steak burritos came out completely wet and smothered. I ordered the tacos and was so happy with my meal as well. I didn’t get our servers name but he was really kind and patient with our questions. Don’t forget to cheers with a spicy marg!!

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in LoDo is now serving brunch on weekends 10am - 3pm (downtown Denver only) and we couldn’t wait to check out their new breakfast menu. Bottomless Mimosas are available for only $22 with purchase of an entree! We arrived at Rio and were seated in a booth by the bar. The restaurant was lively as patrons enjoyed generous plates of classic Mexican fare & margaritas. The staff were awesome, and GM Matt ensured we had everything we needed while we dined. Can’t decide between a Mimosa or Margarita? Rio took care of that with the Mimosarita! The Mimosarita was made with Rio’s own Classic Marg, fresh-squeezed OJ, and champagne. A refreshing blend of frozen orange juice, sparkling champs & zingy tequila. The Big Tex Marg was made with Cuervo tradicional silver, orange liqueur, & fresh citrus. A solid marg with Rio’s specialty blend of citrus juices served on the rocks. The Breakfast Burrito was made with scrambled eggs, jack cheese, & braised pork. A hearty dish - the warm tortilla was smothered in melty cheese & packed with piping hot ingredients. The Pancakes were made with maple cinnamon whipped butter, fresh fruit, & real maple syrup. The pancakes picked up a delicate spice from the hot maple cinnamon butter that was made flavorfully sweet from the real maple syrup. The Steak & Eggs were made with grilled skirt steak, poached eggs, roasted potatoes, refried beans, avocado cilantro chimichurri, grilled jalapeño, caramelized red onion, & handmade flour tortillas. The tender skirt steak was thinly sliced, seared, & served alongside eggs sunny side up - packed with protein and flavor. The Crab Cake Benedict was made with Atlantic Red Crab cake, poached eggs, lime-cilantro hollandaise, & roasted potatoes. A tasty variation on the classic benedict - the hollandaise, & runny poached eggs blanketed the crab cakes. The Diabla Shrimp Empanadas were made with sautéed shrimp, chile de árbol sauce, & jack cheese. The shrimp had firecracker spice and chew in texture that paired well with the crisp fried exterior of the empanada. The Chile Con Queso was made with a cheese blend and pico de gallo. My favorite queso in town - the TexMex dip was silky smooth in perfect cheesy taste. We ended our brunch with tequila shots - when at Rio!

TexMex Lovers unite!! Following a hot rainy afternoon at Coors Field for an all American baseball game hosted by the Colorado Rockies, there is nothing better than finding a large booth to sit with family and friends to enjoy super chilled Margaritas, sizzling fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, and fish tacos. This place is fun, good atmosphere, large windows for people watching, and overall a good experience. If you love TexMex you will be right at home here. Do not confuse this with Mexican food though. Think of this as an Americanized interpretation...not quite the original, but an excellent alternative.
