My chef friend and I decided to grab dinner and planned a trip to Coperta to reminisce on how much we miss Italian food back home in New York. This spot exceeded the bar with subtle seasonal twists on Southern Italian classics, incredible (& unique) beverage selections, and a whole-heartedly genuine team of service professionals.
The decor and setting across the street from Benedict Fountain Park in a cute and trendy downtown neighborhood is wonderful and almost makes you forget you're in a major metropolis.
The attention to detail from the team in every regard reminded me of some of my favorite eateries in back home in New York, but perhaps even more comfortable and "homey."
Sending a huge thank you for making our second visit even more memorable than the first! This is my new go-to spot, and it truly feels like an extension of my dining room table (except with much, much better food!) Mangia! Grazie!
Everything you can ask for from an Italian restaurant. Starting with rustic atmosphere, house made sauces and marinades, and caring service. Hope to return next time I visit Denver. Pictured is a red from Puglia (Luccarelli Negroamaro), marinated olives, house baked focaccia. Not pictured is the smoked ricotta gnudi…you will have to trust and order!
Due to a medical emergency as healthcare workers, we were 20 minutes late for our reservation but we called to apologize and the entire staff were amazing. Special thank you to Alison for all her help!!
The food here was SO GOOD. We got oysters and spaghetti cacio e pepe - would highly recommend both!! The bottle of vermentino wine recommended was also lovely. We also got cannolis to go and they were a unique treat to end our night. Thank you!
This meal was a special occasion for my partners birthday. We’ve been living in denver for 6 years and never been here. We’ve been to Rome and Italy 4 months prior to eating here. Coperta sparked our memories of being back in Rome and Florence. We got a complementary slice of pizza that we absolutely enjoyed. I told the waitress of how we got the similar pizza in a market in Venice. She immediately told us it is normally cut by scissors and we told her that’s how we got it. It was a great experience and flavors made us feel back in Italy again. We will definitely come back again. I gave less stars because we left and forgot our leftovers. We went back immediately and they were clearing and cleaning the table when we returned. They disposed of it less than 3 minutes. This is fabulous since they want to seat the next guests but sad because I wanted to enjoy the pork chops for lunch the next day. You must eat here! It’s absolutely deliciously fabulous!
The potato dessert was sooooo good. The pastas were of course delicious too! I appreciate the fee they have !
The Buck Choi was fantastic. I believe it was the special appetizer. Mocktails were delicious. We ordered the goat cheese ravioli and wood-fired king salmon. Both entrees were extremely salty. Hence, the 4 stars and not 5. The amount of salt took away from any other flavor. Our waitress was super kind and removed it from our bill. I am hoping the chefs will work on this, so we can have a better experience next time!
Dessert was fantastic! We ordered the potatoe donuts. They were crunchy, fresh, and super tasty!
Food and drinks were great! Server was wonderful about explaining everything and they even got us in last minute on a Friday night. Our seats were a very interesting view of the kitchen, which I loved. The only thing that wasn't 100% impressive was the odd musical choice. But I'd take that any day for the good food.
Amazing ambiance. Wonderful wine selection. Had a special menu so did not order from the regular menu.
Come for brunch! The cocktails are great, I loved the bittersweet wake up. Kyle at the bar was excellent too. All the food looked great, and the two egg breakfast was as good as the best.
We had a fantastic meal at Coperta last night! I honestly don't know how this gem of an Italian restaurant is not always packed. Ryan was our server and he was extremely friendly and attentive. He was happy to describe dishes to us and make recommendations. We ended up getting the bucatini, cavatelli, and ricotta ravioli. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The flavors of each dish were multidimensional and unique. They even have a mocktail list on the menu which made this pregnant lady happy. If you're looking for an exceptional Italian spot in Denver, look no further. We will be coming back again soon.
