This place is delicious!! Went here to celebrate my brother's birthday. All the food was amazing. They were sold out of the ribs. So you know they are good! You go up to order your food. They make everything fresh. Highly recommend the Indian Taco! It's not a huge place, but they have plenty of seating. They also have outdoor seating.
This is a really trendy kind of place. The food was pretty decent and the servers were nice. I read they probably wouldn’t have the bison ribs available and they certainly didn’t. The employees were young and didn’t have a lot of info but were friendly just the same. The ground bison had good flavor and the fry bread was great. It is definitely a mixture of native culture as well as Hispanic culture for the food options. Clean and worth trying!
This place was fantastic! I have never experienced a place quite like this, it is a similar setup to restaurants like chipotle and subway, but it is American Indian food! My wife and I both got shredded Buffalo meat and an assortment of toppings and everything tastes fresh and very good quality. Would highly recommend this to someone who is looking to try something new and has an adventurous heart.
Every time I eat Native American food, I love it, but it's so hard to find. I was so happy to discover this spot. It's a Chipotle-style build your own spot.
My husband and I shared:
- Fancy Indian Taco
-Tradish Stuffed Fry Bread
Both were very good, but between the two my choice would be the Tradish. I preferred it stuffed too.
I will happily come back again!
Everything is great here. I enjoyed every minute I spent eating there. I always go and get Indian tacos, but this time, I changed it up and went with the stuffed fry bread and the braised bison, and it did not disappoint.
The parking lot is small. I had to find a spot on the street close by it was a beautiful day so I didn't mind the short walk.
This is the only Native American food restaurant in Denver. Food was very good. We all got the Indian Taco with Bison. Some were shredded, some were ground. The ground Bison had more flavor & seemed to have been seasoned with an herbal mix. For me this was as much an experience as it was a meal. The Wojapi was very good as well. I definitely recommend this place. It reminded me if a Chipotle burrito restaurant because it was a "buildable" meal.
I've had this restaurant saved in my "Want to go to" list for years, for whenever I was back in Denver. It did not disappoint. Fry bread was delicious! Staff provided helpful recommendations.
Saw this on divers drive-ins and dives. While in Colorado we thought what the heck let’s go try out American Indian food.
It was everything we thought and hoped it would be. We had the bison taco and ribs special.
Very delicious, the taco bread was soft like a non-sugared donut. Very soft and mushy and flavorful. Great for absorbing all the sauces from the beans and sweet corn, etc. that came with the meal.
The shredded bison on top was delicious flavorful really went well with the taco, the portion is huge so we shared it, there’s no way one person can eat this without taking a nap later.
We also ordered the bison ribs special. We were there before 12 o’clock and they weren’t ready. Took an hour to be ready. Not sure what happened, if they had a mad dash on ribs at 11am? Or mismanagement of the kitchen? Kind of weird that a place who’s calling it out on the main menu at the register says bison rib, special not have bisons ready.
I love the atmosphere very cool.
Very limited parking though. Suggest you go early, limited seating and maybe call ahead if you want some ribs.
Would I go here again? YES!
This was hands down the best new restaurant I’ve tried in a while! We were driving through town and this place sounded interesting, and I’m so glad we stopped in. I had the Indian taco with shredded bison and it was delicious. We also tried the fry bread nuggets which were like a hot mini powdered donut. We got two boxes and they went way too quick. The staff was super helpful and explained the differences between all the things, and the bathrooms were clean and nice. The next time I’m coming thru Denver we are stopping here again for sure!
My family and I ate here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My nephews were able to prepare their bowls to their liking while the adults ordered speciality items from the menu. I ordered the bison ribs - they were smoked to perfection. The sauce was sweet and thick and the fry bread complemented it wonderfully. We all ordered some Bison in our meals and had no complaints. I truly appreciate Tocabe for brining Native American indigenous cuisine to the public in Denver. I will be back!
