Have been here on Friday for all you can eat fish or shrimp. The real star is the hot beef or pork sandwich. Generous amount of REAL mashed potatoes, tender meat and no shortage of gravy. This dish alone is a 5☆!
Best breakfast ever. Stuffed hash browns are spectacular! Small order is plenty. Couldn't finish the full order. Fast friendly service.
Great place to eat breakfast. The rest of the town (especially Deer River Hospital) can be flushed down the toilet

Nice place. I like the atmosphere and the food was very good. I had the steak sub (sandwich) which was amazing and had a large helping of steak on it. The fries that game with it were very good and there was a large portion of them as well. Great prices!
Working from out of town. Hands down some of the best food in the area. And I’ve been to many places!
We have made a habit of staying at The Sportsman’s Cafe whenever we fish Winnie. They have fantastic loaded hash browns with sausage, onion and cheese. The service is really fast and friendly. Always remember to get the “porcupine meatballs” when they are on special. Save room for blueberry pie if they have it. And finally - they are cash only so plan ahead!

Ate here on the way up north. I had mini tacos and biscuits and gravy. The tacos were good, basic crispy little tacos. The biscuits and gravy were excellent though. The biscuits were light and buttery, and they had been toasted a little. The toasting made the biscuits a little crispy, which was great.
The gravy was well-seasoned, and thick without being heavy or stiff. My father and a friend ordered omelets, and said they were also very good and very filling.
Service was good, the food was great. Loved all 5 of our meals. Soups were wonderful.
What a great place. We went here as part of a Marine Corps League funeral detail after our detail was finished. They treated us well. Great food. Great Americans.
