We've been going to Tokio Sake since my kids were young. (Definitely over 10 years now).
They, IMO, have the BEST sushi around. They will add, remove, substitute if you wish and always have specials. The other places in Barrington or any of the surrounding towns, charge more and one place (which is well-known with multiple locations) hasn't changed their menu since they opened, their fish doesn't compare and they keep raising prices and zero changing or adding to a roll.
Tokio Sake is amazing and nothing compares. Took a friend for the first time who lives in the city and he was blown away! Loved it and will be returning as well.

Charming Japanese joint. Good sushi options my new favorite specialty roll is the Ocen drive. Nice cocktails and sake options. Their house hot sake is really nice. Friendly service and nice atmosphere

Wonderful place to have dinner! I went with two friends to catch up and we split three rolls: the Volcano (tuna based and spicy), the Monster (shrimp based), and the Salmon Fiesta (obviously salmon based!). All were absolutely delicious!! I would definitely come back.

We had dinner here on a weekday around 7:30 pm. Awesome selection of food and good ambiance. The restaurant is interesting and has a good mix of decor. I loved the black rice roll and the ginger dressing salad. They had a matcha cloudy saki which I'd never tried before and that was a treat! Clean bathrooms, warm welcome- I highly recommend this little spot.

Stopped after a night of shopping. Ordered the Negi Hamachi as an appetizer and it was fantastic. For main course we got the Yaki Udon with chicken and the Bibimbap with a fried egg and beef. Everything was fantastic!
Most places do not give you enough vegetables with your meal. Not so with this Bibimbap! There was spinach, mushrooms, carrots, two picked vegetables and lettuce! If you are a fan of veggie (like we are) and lament how much you don't get then this bibimbap is perfect. The steak and egg was also fantastic. The udon was great as well, also a good portion of veggies with the noodles.

We liked this place a lot! Very fresh - everything: fish, salad, real green tea. Drinks menu is very impressive as well. We loved our unfiltered sake! All food was prepared well and just looked too beautiful to eat..Very happy that we discovered this place!

This is by far, one of the best sushi spots in the area. The cocktails are great, especially the Japanese Whiskey Sour. The menu has plenty of options for everyone. The fish is high quality and so fresh. You must try the Japanese Truffle Salmon, it melts in your mouth. The Spicy Tuna Seaweed Salad is also another solid dish. The rolls are also fantastic. Actually, I've never had a dish I wasn't pleased with. Great customer service and lovely ambiance. You better go check it out!

Absolutely delicious! First time going here, but have passed it many times on our way to Cold Stone. Everything was super great! We had the Monster roll and two entrees: the Shrimp and Scallop & the King Salmon they were just as amazing as the picture! Started off with the miso soup and the salad... it's been a long time since I've had a good miso soup & a dressing for the salad (sorry I think it's ginger/mayo) but it was super tasty, flavorful, and delicious! The entrees were just as delicious! I had the salmon and I loved it! It was crispy around the edges, and super flavorful inside! Veggies were even perfect! My fiance had the shrimp & scallop which I tasted and super delish! Same reaction with the Monster roll! Such a great experience, great quality of food, taste, presentation, e.t.c, such a great date!!! Will definitely be back!
