This place is awesome, never had to use a fork to eat a burrito before and not to mention the staff is super sweet. Will definitely eat here agian! Jacqueline was our server, super nice and knowledgeable about the dishes they serve. #awesomedatenight
Raging Burrito never disappoints. The tacos are excellent, the guac is great, and patio is one of the best around. Plus excellent beer list. Love it!
You can find Raging Burrito and Taco at 141 Sycamore St, Decatur, GA 30030. This is the strip of stores and businesses behind the Decatur Square when faced from Ponce. Parking is both good and bad for this area - in general it sucks a bit due to how busy it is, especially around prime feeding times. The good news is that there's a bunch of on street parking and nearby lots. The bad news is that pretty much everything is pay-to-park but Decatur did a pretty smart thing and put technically advanced meters in place so you can use a credit card - you can also input your mobile and if you start running out of time you can pay for more from your mobile - it's awesome.
This place was pretty good and fairly priced. We ordered the small chips and queso and it was really good, enough for two people. I ordered two tacos one grilled steak and chipotle chicken, it came with rice and beans. The grilled steak taco was delicious top notch best taco, the chipotle one was okay nothing special. Overall fast, friendly service! Like this post if helpful
Raging Burrito is a hip tex-mex joint in downtown Decatur that offers big burritos and taco. Raging Taco shares the same space with Burrito and have a nice floor plan with a full bar including a large back patio that is very nice and open. The burritos are large and plump offering some exotic combinations from a Cajun style to a really good Jerk chicken one. Last time I got the Raging Chimi which is a large chimichanga that is one of the best I have had and like most Mexican places they don't skip on the meat inside. The bar offerings have some good local beers and pitchers of sangria. Go in and grab yourself a handful of burrito goodness.
Popular Mexican with Nice Outside Seating
Raging Burrito is located in downtown Decatur. It is a line of shops and many other restaurants. It stands out because it has a very nice outside dining area in back.
Service is friendly and efficient. Setting is very nice. Food is generally good. But nothing rose to a level of excellent or outstanding.
Prices were reasonable. So I would go back on a nice, mild day and enjoy the setting.
Good tacos. I stopped in for lunch after I was released from jury duty early (thank goodness!) since it is right around the corner from the Decatur courthouse in the Square. Unfortunately, it was raining pretty badly so I was unable to sit on the nice looking patio they have out back. So I decided to sit at the bar instead. The server was very friendly and seemed to know what she was doing even though she was new.
I went with the taco plate and got the Fish and Chipotle Chicken tacos with black beans and rice. I don't know if they do this everyday, but they also gave me (and all the other customers) a free appetizer of chips and veggie chili con queso. The chips were nothing special, but the queso was quite good. As for the tacos, the Chipotle Chicken was pretty good, though it wasn't all that unique, and Barney pretty much summed it up about the Fish one in his review (average to slightly above average). The beans and rice were also good, but again nothing unique. They're topped with salsa and sour cream and went well with my leftover chips from the free appetizer.
I think the burritos might be the way to go here, but the tacos aren't bad... just not excellent either. The burritos just sound more enticing when you read through the menu. They do have a decent beer selection which is nice (I had a Stone IPA. I know, it was lunch time, but I felt like celebrating my early freedom from jury duty. Don't judge). This definitely is a place to check out in Decatur, especially if you're looking for something a little cheaper than most of the other options nearby.
Good really good. And filling. one thing worth noting is that you will get nickel and dime you for everything. somehow that is a sound long-term business strategy. i cant say.
Mediocre Mexican, but good.. Unique menu, though I thought the portion size on the quesidilla was a little small. Their queso is really good.
Don't be fooled by their website that ambiguously says they're open "till late" on Fridays and Saturdays. I showed up around 10:30 on a Friday and they were closing and no longer seating guests. Call first! Other than that, it's good and enjoyable.
I love the Baja fish tacos and great beers on tap. My wife is a big fan of the margaritas. We have been regulars at raging b since the opened in the late 90's. They have our favorite patio in the city.
Great food and Excellent wait staff!!!. I got a gigantic Burrito at a reasonable price and enjoyed it so much I had to go back! Hope to visit again soon and get to enjoy some more awesome food!
1st time here and I loved the guacamole and Pineapple Jerk Burrito. I also had the Peachy Dream Mocktail. Great portions and very flavorful.
We are from out of town in need of a solid meal before hitting Decatur breweries and this place did not disappoint! We got the chips and all 3 dips; salsa is on point! Guac and cheese dip also solid. We ordered steak tacos and the fajita burrito bowl with chipotle chicken, respectively, and both were fantastic. We sat at the bar and service was wonderful. Highly recommend.
This was the best burrito that I’ve had since being in LA many years ago. It was big and very flavorful. It got a little soggy and started to fall apart, so you should not unwrap it completely before eating it, but little by little as you eat. I had the jerk chicken burrito and it very fresh. Customer service was very good and they offer a nice variety of menu choices.
Took my high school Spanish class last week for Hispanic Heritage Month and they had a whale of a time. Should have seen their plates!!! Absolutely loved the outdoor setting...imagine having to cram 20+ students and chaperones inside a busy restaurant at lunch hour. And food was delicious too. One of my students even told me it's his family's regular hang out. Glad I chose it to take my chicos for their field trip. Also it's close to the square in Downtown Decatur and I allowed my and guys and gals to hang out there for a bit before heading back to our bus.
I got the Baja fish and chicken tacos. Both tacos were extremely delicious. My favorite out of the two was the Baja fish. I would definitely be returning back on my lunch breaks.
Really enjoyed the food, prices, service and atmosphere. I am a vegetarian and my husband is not, but this menu was able to give us both great options. The serving sizes were massive and good enough for 2 meals! I will come back again and again. Great local spot
Friendly helpful staff. Delicious tacos with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. Love the fresh salsa.
Got Raging Burrito delivered, and was really impressed with how great it was, even after being in a bag in someone’s car for a little while. They stored the queso separately for my smothered burrito, which made it way better when I poured the sauce on after receiving it. Definitely give the smothered beef brisket burrito a try. You’ll be glad you did.
This is a Decatur gem. Big burritos and portions of nachos. Friendly service, too. I've been eating here for over 15 years, and they have one of the best patios. It is a great place to wind down and eat some delicious food.
The food was good. They have vegan options. The outdoor seating area is awesome. They are very accommodating. I plan to return to this location.
