Applebee's

My sister and I decided to go out for lunch with her client(special needs.) Upon arrival the two hostesses looked as if they were in shock the three of us were there to eat let alone more confused when we asked for outdoor seating. Moving along to our wobbly table on the patio, appetizers were brought out with one salad plate with the utensils and napkins on top although there was THREE of us. The utensils also looked very cloudy and when wiped it just smeared and smeared. We ordered onion rings and artichoke dip with chips. The chips were on point but the onion rings were cooked for entirely too long. The entrees we ordered was the shrimp and sirloin with mashed potatoes, a quesadilla burger and the grilled chicken Caesar salad. The steak was ordered medium rare and came to the table well done. The quesadilla burger was super greasy and running all over the plate(ordered no pink and came as such so kudos) and the salad was probably the best thing to come out as our client doesn’t talk but the chicken looked to be cooked well and he ate a good portion of his plate. The waitress started off with projection and effort until I asked for additional plates and a cup of hot water(for the utensils.) after that we barley seen her and when we did she was borderline whispering. Two of the three drinks were refilled while the third one got refilled when the check came out 🤔(where they do that at?) I personally won’t be returning to this location(Pt Orange has a better vibe) as I’ve had two bad experiences already and now that I finally sat down and ate it wasn’t worth the money nor service. Great company just bad location in my opinion.

So our waitress was great (Felicia), but the quality has gone WAY down. Out of 5 of us, only two of us really enjoyed our food. The silverware was disgusting even though we were told all silverware is sanitized and put in dishwasher. We don't fault our waitress because honestly she was so cool but management needs to tighten up and captain their ship. Though our waitress was great, if I never go back, I'm not missing much.

The food is generally good, service on the other hand, awful. The host was great, waiter not so much. The restaurant was not busy in the least and getting our food took forever. I wish they'd seriously consider the atmosphere for the guests. On a 92°+ day, it's ridiculous to have the restaurant air conditioning set to "glacial". Those vents blow right on us, from all directions, so being comfortable while eating is impossible. No one lugs around a suitcase with arctic gear in it to accommodate being able to eat at this establishment.

We were hungry for Oriental Chicken Salads at Applebee's. We hadn't been to Volusia Mall Applebee's in a long time so we thought we'd give it a try. That turned out to be a terrible idea. Our server was wonderful and working like crazy. But apparently they were training new kitchen staff. Lunch was a total fail! Our salads were not like any of the Oriental salads we have had in the past. They came without a lot of the ingredients and no dressing. When we got a container of dressing and poured it on. It was not the usual dressing that came with that salad. It was hot and spicy and completely ruined our salads. We paid our check, informed and thanked our server, but we will not be back. Really disappointed!!

Our most recent visit was not up to standard from this location. Our server stoney was great. It was the food the was the dissatisfaction. A new cook =not so good food. She was the ONLY server. She mentioned herself even going to management, we were shocked to hear management didn't bat a eye of concern. Shame because this was a "great food" restaurant. No pix needed.
