I went to Sunrise for the first time last night (12/13/16). I ordered Steak Pho on the recommendation of a friend. I wasn't able to finish the large portion so I decided to take the remainder to go (we were trying to head to a movie). I poured out the soup into the to-go container; I was in a rush and noticed something crumpled up at the bottom of the soup. Since we were rushed, I figured it was an accidental dumpling or piece of tofu. I just went to re-heat my Pho at home, and noticed the piece again. I poked at it with a fork and it was a FULL PAPER TOWEL. I have since texted and warned all my friends who also ate there and took home leftovers. Really gross and absolutely unacceptable.

Finally, a place that has excellent Pad Thai. I've tried it at several other Thai restaurants, and the Vietnamese restaurant has the best flavor, and doesn't replace half the chicken in the chicken Pad Thai with tofu! I also enjoyed their vermicelli chicken dish (#40) that is usually referred to as Bun. The prices here are great, and I also enjoyed their taro flavored bubble tea.

smaller portion and less expensive compared to Pho King. Environment isn't as nice (very dark inside). The quality of food matches how much you pay. But I wished there were more meat in the pho. Rice plate had very little meat as well.

Cheap Vietnamese food that is good for a quick meal in Downtown Davis. They are known for their banh mi, but also have a variety of noodle and rice dishes. You get a lot of food for less than $10, but its just average quality and not the best service so you get what you pay for. A large bowl of pho tai here is 6.75 so its cheaper than pho king, but they don't provide the garnish on the side and its overall lower quality. The meat came pretty raw which is unsightly, and it doesn't seem as fresh as pho king's. However Sunrise is superior in quantity, their bowl is much more filling. I wouldn't recommend the spring rolls, they were skimpy on shrimp and again seemed to be lacking in freshness. I have heard good things about the banh mi sandwiches and pork dishes. This place is good if you only have half an hour and are craving pho/Viet pork, but you get what you pay for.

Went there today for Vietnamese coffee. Ended up getting the Thai iced tea with boba & 2 cups of Viet coffee. All that for $8 AMAZING! That was the best boba I've had in Davis. Definitely going there again to try their sandwiches & more Thai iced tea :D

Cheap, good food. They have a large selection. Banh mi are the way to go for a quick, inexpensive lunch. Their decor is a little drab, but it may be because this place is always empty.

Staff isn't very friendly. The menu is unclear. The bathroom had 3 spiders. Food is decent and the prices are great.
